  Notes	"Elizabethton Star," Thursday, July 11, 1935 DAVID J. SLIMP David J. Slimp, 89, of Neva, Tenn., died at his home Wednesday morning at 12 o'clock. Surviving are five children, Stacy Slimp of Butler, J. E. Slimp and Mrs. S. S. Stout, both of Neva, Mrs. L. J. Mink of Shouns, and C. F. Slimp of Neva. The deceased was a member of the 13th Tennessee Cavalry in the Civil War. He was a charter member of the Christian Church of Neva and had been a deacon of the church for 40 years. Funeral services will be conducted from the late residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. J. N. Shephard officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
