- He was a son of the late James C. and Emma Alma White Collins. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Jordan Collins and a brother, George P. Collins.
Mr. Collins was a former saw mill operator and retired from Jarl Extrusions of Elizabethton.
He was a member of Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679, Butler; a member of the Butler Chapter #218 Order of Eastern Star; the Scottish Rite, Knoxville, and Jericho Temple, Kingsport.
Mr. Collins served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Little Doe Baptist Church, Butler.
Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services and interment weree held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2003 in the Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City.
