- KINGSPORT — Florine "Flo" Baker, age 84, of Kingsport, TN, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
A native of Washington County, TN, she was a daughter of the late Gurney and Elizabeth Fair Trivett. Mrs. Baker was a longtime member of Keystone Freewill Baptist Church. She retired from Shoney's in Johnson City after working for 40 years. She was a loving Momma and Mammaw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Trivett and Juanita Taylor; one brother, W.E. Trivett; Son-in-law, Paul R. Taylor.
Survivors include her son, Ron Baker, of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Taylor, Kingsport; one brother, Edward Trivett, Camden, SC; one sister, Evelyn Kelly, Johnson City; five granddaughters, Robin Cox, Tammy Birch, Melissa Leach, Sonya Acito, Vivian Taylor, all of Kingsport; Eight Great Grandchildren; one very special niece, Kathy Ray, Gray; Six wonderful Sisters-in-law, Hazel, Edith, Mary Ann, Edna, Jean and Naomi. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Baker will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2011, from Keystone Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City, with Rev. Bill Greer, Rev. Ron Bradshaw and Rev. Terry Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 28, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home or other times at the residence.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted from Washington County Memory Gardens following the funeral service on Tuesday. Active Pallbearers will be the Great Grandsons and Grand Sons-in-law.
