- Lonnie Oxendine Hill, 97, Hampton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a lengthy illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late George and Eva Jane Morgan Oxendine. She was a retired factory worker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Hill; Her Sisters: Glynia Bowling, Geneva Odom and Joann Hill; and a brother: Harvey Oxendine.
She was a member of the Sunset Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter: Brenda Edwards, Telford; A Grandson: Jimmy Edwards; Two Sisters: Rosa Lee Stevens, Hampton, and Patsy Hudgins, of North Carolina; A brother & sister-in-law: Jim & Velma Oxendine, Johnson City; Several nieces & Nephews; and a special "Mamaw" to David Moody and Josh White. Her Special Friends: Katie Banner, Ted & Faye Fender and many others.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Richardson and Rev. Gary Whitehead officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, in the Peters Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, will be; Brian Buckner, Danny Odom, David Moody, Eddie Odom, George Robertson, Jimmy Edwards and Jimmy Oxendine. Honorary pallbearers will be: Her Church Family and friends.
