Robert Vernon Michael. . .
Robert Vernon Michael age 67 of Trade, died in Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, N.C., Friday at 5 a.m. after a short illness. A native of Watauga County, N.C. he had made his home in Johnson County for the past 15 years. He was the son of the late William and Kisa South Michael; a farmer and member of the Evergreen Baptist Church.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Pearl Michael, Trade; three sons, William Michael, West Grove, Pa., Arlie Michael, Yorklyn, Del., and Robert Michael Jr., Spray, Ore.; five daughters: Mrs. Ernest Rash of Trade, Mrs. Kermit Cornett and Mrs. Guavin Norris both of Kennett Square, Pa., Mrs. William Garr of Toughkenamon, Pa. and Mrs. George Shank, Christana, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Mundy, Hickory, N.C., Mrs. Sam Bryant, Shouns and Mrs. Lillie Trivett, West Jefferson, N.C.; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from Lewis Gentry Funeral Home chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Pete Vannoy and Rev. Arnt Greer officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City.
Pallbearers were Russell Garland, Roger Love, Martin Reece, James Wilson, Gill Mains and Fred Thomas. Flowerbearers[sic] included friends and neighbors.
Lewis Gentry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
