LUTHER PAUL HEATON
Funeral services for Luther Paul Heaton, 40, of Route 2, Johnson City who died in a local hospital Sunday afternoon, will be conducted at the Pinecrest Baptist Church, of which he was a member, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brown Bowers officiating assisted by Rev. G. D. Barrett and the Rev. George Westmoreland. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Fred Carver, Clarence Chambers, Fred L. Williams, Astor "Mike" Deloach, Frank Smith, Harlow Crosswhite, Bert Lowe, and Robert Banks.
The members of the Dashiel Lodge Number 238, F and A. M. will be in charge of the services at the grave.
Mr. Heaton was a member of the Virginia May Lodge Number 38, A. F. and A. M., Radford, Virginia, and a Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Floy Heaton; one daughter, Phyllis Ann Heaton and one son, L. Q. Heaton, both of the home; four brothers, Sam, Lewis and Winifred Heaton all of Elizabethton, and Haddon Heaton of Boise, Idaho; and three sisters, Celeste Heaton, Martha Heaton and Mrs. Dencie Estep all of 401 North East Street, Elizabethton.
The body was moved to the home of the sisters Monday afternoon where it will remain until 12:00 noon Thursday when it will be taken to the church to lie-in-state until the funeral hour.
The Tetrick Funeral Home is in charge.
