DEATHS
Daniel Moody, 61, of Rt. 1, Mountain City, died Saturday, 1:30 a.m., in Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, N. C., after a brief illness. He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late William Roy and Margaret Anderson Moody. He was owner and operator of the Moody Lumber Co., and a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.
]Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iva Lee Moody; one son, William Moody, Mountain City; three daughters, Mrs. Joy Lee Cress, and Mrs. Cloyce Phillippi, both of Mountain City, and Mrs. Minnie Miller, Shouns; two brothers, Stacy Moody, Beech Creek, N. C., and Edward Moody, Hampton; four sisters, Mrs. Tilda Flannery, Toodd[sic], N. C., Mrs. Ida Bowman, Elizabethton, Mrs. Eva Greer, Butler, and Mrs. Texie Trivette, Neva; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, 2 p.m., from the Gentry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Thomas Gatton and Rev. Kermit Combs officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pall-bearers[sic] were Clint Dunn, John Head, Elmer Jones, Blaine McElyea, R. L. Lewis, Ronda Head, Paul Head, Edgar Farmer, C. J. Knight, Marion Woodards, Ed Wilcox and Haney Johnson.
Flower-bearers were friends and neighbors.
Lewis Gentry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
