Funeral Services For Mrs. Mattie DeLoach Held August 21
Funeral services were held at the Oglethorpe Baptist Church, Monday, August 21, at 4:00 p.m. for Mrs. Mattie Clark DeLoach, 73, who passed away Sunday morning at a Montezuma hospital. Rev. C. L. Goss, pastor, officiated, and interment was in the Oglethorpe Cemetery.
Mrs. DeLoach was born in Schley County on February 8, 1877, the daughter of the late Lewis P. and Ada Easterlin Clark. She was the wife of the late John DeLoach.
Survivors of the deceased are her four daughters, Mrs. Gene Stafford, of Oglethorpe, Mrs. Royal Herndon, of Kathleen, Mrs. J. H. Chapman, of Macon, and Mrs. C. T. Chapman, of Dry Branch; four sons, Jerome DeLoach, of Detroit, Mich., Henry DeLoach, of Unadilla, Oscar DeLoach, of McRae, Rev. Hugh DeLoach, of Meigs; three sisters, Mrs. B.B. DeLoach, of Oglethorpe, Mrs. D. D. Mitchell, of Macon, and Mrs. J. H. Wilson, Panama city, Fla.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Mrs. DeLoach's grandsons: Harold, Derry and Pete Chapman, Jack Herndon, Wade Harbin and Billy DeLoach.
