WALTER B. PLEASANT
Walter B. Pleasant, age 48, died at his home, 302 Doe Avenue, Thursday night at 10:25 o'clock after an illness of two months.
Mr. Pleasant was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Mountain City. He was a merchant in Elizabethton about eight years, but retired about a year ago. A son, Jack L. Pleasant, was killed in Italy November 12, 1943.
Survivors are a daughter, Ruby Pleasant, Elizabethton; three sons, Walter B. Pleasant, Jr., U. S. Navy, Pacific area, William Howard Pleasant, U. S. Army, Camp Wheeler, Ga., Sidney Pleasant, Elizabethton; three brothers, William Pleasant, Doeville, Clate, Dallas, Oregon, Hobert, in Oregon; six sisters, Mrs. Joe Robinson, Doeville, Mrs. William H. Robinson, Niota, Mrs. David Robinson, Doeville, Mrs. H. L. Nave, Elizabethton, Mrs. Ira Blevins, Johnson City, Mrs. W. B. Arnold, Doeville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Tabernacle Church with the Rev. R. A. Pettitt, officiating. Burial will be in the Rainbolt Cemetery at Doeville.
Pallbearers will be in Earnest Nave, Paul Nave, George Peters, Frances Hodge, Hobe Pleasant, Bob Pleasant, Charles Brown, and Richard Hutchins.
Roy Hathaway Funeral Home is in charge.
