- MOUNTAIN CITY — Hazel Bess "Nini" Wilson, age 99, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was born to the late Dan and Jessie Wilson on February 6, 1912.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two children: Shirley Wilson and Richard "Dick" Wilson; brothers: Fred, Aurther, Shortie, Junior, Boyd and Ray Wilson; and a sister, Ruby Forrester.
Hazel is survived by her grandson, Thomas D. Wilson and wife, Dianne, of the home; granddaughter, Kelly Perkins, of Greenville, Tennessee; four great granddaughters: Christina Perkins, Taylor Tester, Lindsey and Courtney Wilson; sisters: Maxine King and Norma Jean Lowe; brother, J.C. Wilson; daughter-in-law, Sue Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Kaye Atwood and Laura Davis.
Ms. Hazel worked for the Johnson County School System for nearly 50 years. During that time, she worked as a teacher, substitute, secretary and an assistant. She is well remembered for the stories she shared with many children over the years
Ms. Hazel was a charter member of Dewey Christian Church, where she was a faithful member. She loved spending time with her family and visitors. Ms. Hazel lived a long full life and will be sadly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Ministers C.D. "Bud" Gentry and Jim Hutchinson to officiate.
Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons and Elders of Dewey Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Ms. Hazel to the Wilson Cemetery, ? Traci Adams, 186 Henry Stout Branch Road, Butler, TN 37640.
