- HAMPTON — Bessie Marie Arnold Roark, 75, Hampton, went to be with her Lord, Saturday April 19, 2008, at her residence.
She was a Johnson County native but had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments and had worked for thirty years at Browns Super Market. She loved to work in her flowers and her garden. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church, but attended the Hampton Church of God.
Mrs. Roark was preceded in death by her father, Walter Raymond Arnold; and her husband, Norman "Sarge" Roark, April 20, 2001.
Survivors include two daughters & sons-in-law: Teresa Nidiffer and her husband, John Dunlap, Elizabethton, and Tonya and Henry Weaver, Weaverville, North Carolina; Her Mother: Wilma Ward Arnold, Baltimore, Maryland; One Grandson: Josey Walter Weaver; Sister: Geraldine Kemp, Baltimore; A Brother: Bobby Mack Arnold, Hampton; Several Nieces & Nephews & Great Nieces & Nephews; Her special friends: Jane Goodwin Davis, Susan Lamb & Judy Austin.
A gathering of family, friends and acquaintance to celebrate the memories of Bessie Roark will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel. Memorials May be made in memory of her to the Hampton Church of God. Friends are welcome To come by the residence at their convenience.
The family would like to express a Special "Thank You' to the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice and her friends and Neighbors who offered their loved and support during her illness.
