- Claudia Fowler DeLOACH
RUSTON, LA - Claudia Fowler DeLoach was born January 3, 1919 in Claiborne
Parish and died September 15, 2004 at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston,
LA, following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Leon DeLoach. They made their home in Athens for 50 years until
she entered nursing home care.
Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Kay Lynn Tettleton and son-in-law,
Lt. Col. John Tettleton of Ruston, LA; one grandson, Paul Stellman of
Cambridge, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Donna DeLoach of Ruston, LA; and
sister-in-law, Betsy Fowler of Navarre Beach, Florida.
Claudia DeLoach was a graduate of Lisbon High School and Louisiana Tech
University. She retired from 32 years of teaching in Claiborne, Lincoln,
and Winn Parishes. She was a former Sunday School teacher and Church
Organist. She was a former member of Claiborne Parish Retired
organizations, Kappa Delta Gamma, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2004
at Athens Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery
in Athens. Visitation will be Thursday, September 16, 2004 from 6:00
p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the
direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Methodist Children's Home in
Ruston, LA will be appreciated.
