- Orlando - Roy Herold DeLoach, born June 6, 1925 on the family farm outside of Andalusia, Alabama, died December 6, 2007 in Orlando, Florida. He moved to Florida in 1934 and joined the US Navy in 1943 after his junior year at Orlando High School. He served with distinction as part of Navy Amphibious Operations in the Marshall Islands, Saipan, and Okinawa campaigns. He moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1972 and established DeLoach's Meat Mart. He owned and operated DeLoach's Meat Mart from 1972 until he transitioned ownership to his son Roy Herold DeLoach, Jr. in 1993. His son currently operates the market. He is survived by his mother, Goldie Mae DeLoach, who is 102 years old, his wife Glenna Sellards DeLoach, his two sisters Martha and Jean, and his four sons Roy, Steve, Dan, and David. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 11th, at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Church located at 4405 N. Galloway Rd., Lakeland, FL 33810.
