- Mrs. Mae Keller, 94, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Bessie Treadway Bowling and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Keller in 1986, a daughter, Ann Price; four brothers, Paul Bowling, Crawford Bowling, Clifford Bowling, Jack Bowling; two sisters, Claudia Oliver and Hildred Hensley.
Mrs. Keller was the former owner/operator of Keller's Grocery. She was also a former employee of Susie's Shoes. She loved her friends and family and she loved to garden and cook. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Shook and her husband, Paul, Elizabethton; Carol Nave and her husband, Gary; Elizabethton; two sons, Jim Keller and his wife, Debbie, Elizabethton; Jack Keller and his wife, Barbara, Bluff City; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; a special son-in-law, Manuel Price. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Keller will be conducted on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Rev. Sam Haynes officiating. Music will be under the direction of Gail Campbell, soloist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Brooks Price, Brett Price, Michael Price, Dexter Price, Dakota Price, and Herman Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Tester, Mike Tester, Jimmy Tester, L. C. Tester and very special friends, Pauline Tester, Sherry Sheets, Brenda Reece, and Connie Tester. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
