- Mrs. Addie Mae Tolley, 76, 810 Blue Springs Road, Elizabethton, died
Monday, November 22, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended
illness.
Mrs. Tolley was a native of Boone, N.C., and a daughter of the late James
Roy and Elizabeth Brinkley Matheson. She was also preceded in death by a son,
Rev. Johnny Combs, two sisters, Blanche Merritt and Mabel Wallace, and a
brother, Lee Matheson.
Mrs. Tolley had lived in Carter County for the past 45 years. She was a
member of the Blue Springs Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ikie M. Tolley; a son and daughter-in-law,
David and Tammy Combs, Elizabethton; a stepson and his wife, Joe and Joan
Tolley, Elizabethton; two brothers, Thomas Matheson, Elizabethton, and Edgar
Matheson, Marion, Va.; two grandsons, Jamie Combs and Jody Combs, both of
Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Krystal Combs, Elizabethton; a great-granddaughter,
Millicent Combs; and a stepgrandson, Jeff Tolley. Several nieces and nephews
also survive.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
TOLLEY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Mae Tolley, 76, 810 Blue Springs
Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday
at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Mack Bennett and Mr. Richard Thomason,
ministers, officiating. Interment will be at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active
pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 150 p.m.
Wednesday, will be Glenn Hardin, Houston Timbs, Jim Rouse, Gayle Oliver, Mack
Collins, Lawrence Pierce and Ivan Buckles. Honorary pallbearers will be her
church family. Also surviving are her special friends, Molly and Landon
Lingerfelt, Shirley and Judy Bowers and Beulah and Glen Hardin. The family will
receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon Wednesday until the service
hour at 2 p.m. Friends may also call at the residence of a son and
daughter-in-law, David and Tammy Combs, 2936 Siam Road, Elizabethton. Memorial Funeral
Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
