- ELIZABETHTON - C. Eddie Collins, 74, 505 Golf Course Drive, Elizabethton, died at his residence Friday, January 27, 2006, after a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Lossie R. Collins Sr. and Ota Hyder Collins. Mr. Collins retired from Inland Container Corporation after more than a 30 year career in Management. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean conflict aboard the U.S.S. Healy. He was a member of the Elizabethton Golf Course and the Erwin Elks Club. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and had attended Milligan College. Mr. Collins was of the Christian faith and was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bearyl McGhee Collins; and a brother, Lossie Collins Jr. Survivors include a son, Charles "Pete" Collins II and his wife, Mary, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; grandchildren, Laura, David and Ashley; Daughter, Penny Constantine, of the home; granddaughter, Candi; great-granddaughter, Madison; Daughter, Angel Burch, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; Grandchildren, Tommy and Jeb; Great-Grandchild, Cody; and daughter, Robin, and husband, Ken Vinson, of Clermont, Florida; Grandchildren, Nicholas and Chelsea; and great-grandson, Tallen. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Wayne Shoun, Pete Taylor, Don McKeehan, Frank Curde, Shelby Miller, Chris Collins, son of his beloved brother, and his son, Pete Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will be his Grandchildren.
