- R. L. "Square" DeLoach, age 92, of Birta, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at the
Dardanelle Nursing Center. A son of the late William Floyd and Irene Spencer
DeLoach, he was born March 20, 1912, in Jones, Texas. He was a farmer, and a
member of the American Motorcycle Association. On August 4, 1951, he rode his
motorcycle to Birta, Arkansas, and called it "home". He was a member of the
Ola Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his wife, Jewell Geneva DeLoach, and a step-son, Larry Breashears Sr.
Survivors include his sister, Allie Batey Flowers of Salem, Arkansas; a step-
daughter, JoAnn Dunnam and her husband, Ray, of Plainview, Texas; a step-
daughter-in-law, Betty Breashears of Little Rock; five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Nathan Abernathy, Harlen Porter, Dolan Sharton,
Tommy Porter, Jerry Porter and William Damen. Honorary pallbearers will be
Alvin Sales, Bob Fallen and Bill Wilson.
