- Mrs. Bertha (Cecil) Fletcher of Oxford, Pa., formerly of Elizabethton, died at Oxford Tuesday morning after a short illness.
She was a native of Carter County and a member of the Doe Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son Kermit Fletcher, Oxford, Pa.; three daughters, Mrs. Romeo Shoun of Oxfonrd[sic], Pa., and Mrs. Blanche Walton, Oxford, and Mrs. J.C. Campbell, also of Oxford; one brother, Landan[sic] Sheffield of Elizabethton; four sisters, Mrs. Andy Estep, Mrs. Rex Williams, and Mrs. Clara White, all of Elizabethton; and Mrs. Kennenth[sic] Thompson of West Grove, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted from the Lewis Gentry Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Theodore Robinson and the Rev. Jess Richardson officiating. Burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery at Butler.
Pallbearers were Ronald Culver, Kemp Culver, Howard Sheffield, Warren Estep, Rex Williams, Jr., and Gary White.
