- ELIZABETHTON - Oscar Cale Garrison, 87, 115 Meredith Drive, Elizabethton, died at his residence Wednesday morning, May 10, 2006.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Cling and Bessie Headrick Garrison. Mr. Garrison was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and a former Elder for forty years.
Mr. Garrison was retired from Univac. He was a Air Force Veteran of World War II, an avid fisherman and loved to work in his garden. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of fifty six years, Pauline Oliver Garrison; Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Clay Bailey and Mr. Jason Birchfield officiating. Graveside and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Valley Forge Christian Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews and his church family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel prior to the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence at any time.
