- Jean Williams - JOHNSON CITY
Mrs. Jean Chambers Williams, Johnson City, died Monday, September 6, 2004, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late D.M. Chambers Sr. and Martha Ellis Chambers. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class of the church. Mrs. Williams was a sustaining member of the Johnson City Junior League. Her husband, Bailey E. Williams Jr., preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by one brother, D.M. Chambers Jr.; and three sisters, Myrtle C. Grindstaff, Vorita Chambers Isaacs and Florence “Jack” Chambers Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Moore and husband, Dwight, of Gray, and Lisa Pendleton and husband, Dave, of Kingsport; one sister, Katharyn C. Noble, of Johnson City; grandchildren, Mark E. Moore, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lauren K. Pendleton, of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Williams will be held Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 11:00 A.M. from Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Garland Thayer officiating.
