- HAMPTON — Joseph A. Willis, 95, 150 Escape Mountain, Hampton, died Thursday, December 6, 2007, in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Bob & Nancy Ann Tolley Willis. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 43 years of service. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Myrtle Tolley Willis, in December 1991; by a son, Albert Willis; four sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Eddie & Kyle Hyder, Hampton and Glenda & Bob Hyatt, Elizabethton; Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Danna & Mary Etta Willis, Gray, and Raymond & Veronica Willis, Renton, Washington; 15 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Elgin L.D. Berry officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Willis Cemetery. Music will be provided by Joel Crisp.
Active Pallbearers will be Grandson and Great Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Herman Tolley, Robert Clark, Cecil Hyder, Bob Dugger, Jim Cable and the Staff of ETSU Family Medicine. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Zia Piehman
