William "Mac" McKinley Wolfe
William "Mac" McKinley Wolfe, age 72 of Butler (Sugar Grove Community) died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Monday morning after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Johnson County, son of the late Lawrence S. and Emily Anderson Wolfe; a retired farmer; veteran of World War I and a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Epsie Wolfe, Butler; one daughter, Mrs. Spencer Gregg of Butler; three sons, Joseph H. Wolfe, Columbia, S.C., Lawrence Wolfe, Butler, William "Mac" Wolfe, Jr.; four brothers, Henry Wolfe, Elizabethton, Sethlow Wolfe, Beckley, W.Va., Ode Wolfe, Butler, Ralph Wolfe, Akron, O.; four sisters, Mrs. Roscoe Forrester, Butler, Mrs. Anne Dugger of Elizabethton, Mrs. Harriet Daugherty, Elizabethton, Mrs. Grady Stout, Mountain City; one half-brother, Earl Anderson, Elizabethton; one half-sister, Mrs. Mable Harmon, Sugar Grove, N.C.; 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday (today) from Sugar Grove Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lawrence Hagaman offiicating[sic]. Burial will be in Cowan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Warren Dugger, Wallace Dugger, Glenn Dugger, Grady McGuire, Wade Snyder, Lon Greenwell; flowerbearers[sic], ladies of the church and neighbors.
