- JOHNSON, OSCAR ANDREW, age 82, of Jefferson City, formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed way at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, January 21, 1999, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City following a brief illness. He was a member of the Covenant Life Church in Morristown and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. Mr. Johnson was a retired employee of the Jefferson City Water Works. Survivors include his wife, Pauline "Polly" Johnson of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Phillip Stapleton of Jefferson City, Joyce and Rick Stephens of Jefferson City, Nancy and Tommy Taylor of Chestnut Hill; son and daughter-in-law, James and Lisa Johnson of Jefferson City; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Hettie Chaffin of Virginia, and Dorothy Miller of Mountain City, Tennessee; brothers, Conley Johnson of North Carolina and Earl Johnson of Mountain City, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Interment to follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
