- Shirley Anne Trivet Shatzer, 56, of Newland, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Yellow Mountain Group Home in Newland, NC.
She was born on March 20, 1961, in Huntington, Ind., a daughter of James and Diana (Ward) Trivett.
She was preceded in death by her Brother: James F. Trivett Jr.; Grandparents: Walter and Hattie (Oaks) Trivett, Max and Josine (Ebersole) Ward.
Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory her: Parents; James and Diana (Ward) Trivett of Elk Park, NC; Children: Hattie Anne (Andrew) Lewis of Newland, NC, Allen Shatzer of Huntington, Ind.; Sister: Mary Jane Skaar of Morganton, NC; Granddaughter: Katie Anne Lewis of Newland, NC; Aunts and Uncles: Sally Gamble, Delores and Bill Durham, Sue and Delmer Laws, Betty Winters, Raymond and Rosa Edna Trivett and Bob and Hazel Trivett; numerous cousins; her group home family: Natalie, Elaine, Susie, Stephanie, Kala, Charlie, Flora, Neal, Margaret, Patty and Brenda.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Services for Shirley Anne Shatzer will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, from the Grandfather Chapel, with Pastor Bryan Griffith and Pastor Brent Snyder officiating.
Interment will be in the Molly Guinn Cemetery, Elk River Road, Elk Park, NC, with pallbearers Allen Shatzer and nephews and niece James, Bethany, Nathan, Caleb and Evan, with honorary pallbearer Dante' Skaar.
