- Kenneth Mitchel DeLoach, 66, Elizabethton passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late J.G. & Dorothy Nadine Ellis DeLoach. He was a 1966 graduate of Happy Valley High School. Kenneth was retired from Kennametal Inc. Following his retirement he was employed at Chaparral Pontiac-Buick and GMC, Johnson City. Kenneth was a member of the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years: Diane Lynn Weese DeLoach, October 2, 2013, a brother: Burlus DeLoach and a niece: Brandy Ann Hicks, a great nephew: Zack Brugh.
Survivors include his Children: Donna DeLoach, Elizabethton, Bryan DeLoach and wife Dawn, Gray and Shanna Roark and fiancé Brad Kirk, Telford. His Grandchildren: Gavin Roark, Gage DeLoach, Lola DeLoach, Harleigh DeLoach and Kendal DeLoach. Two Sisters: Dorothy Cooper and husband Dennis, Athens, Tenn., and Juanita Hicks and husband, David, Johnson City. A Brother: Victor DeLoach & wife Judy, Elizabethton. His Uncle Floyd DeLoach, and Aunts: Laura DeLoach and Elmina DeLoach. His Nieces & Nephews: Stacey Whitson and wife Melissa, Tiffany Jenkins and husband Gerald, Whitney Taylor and Victor "Vic" DeLoach, II Joseph Taylor & wife Leslie, all of Elizabethton, Russell Cooper and wife Beverly, Athens and Joey Garrison and husband Josh, Statesville, North Carolina, Angie Attkisson, Knoxville, TN. His Great Nephews: Bradley & Josh Whitson, Chris Cunningham, Trenton Taylor-Ricker and Nick Jenkins. His Great Nieces: Sydney Jenkins, Jensen Garrison, Zoe Attkisson, Liz Brugh, Lori Brugh and Abbie Webb. His Father & Mother-in-Law: Virgil "Buck" & Helen Blankenship Weese, Johnson City.
A Service to celebrate the life of Kenneth DeLoach will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Mark Potter officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2014 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Megan Harsh and the Praise Choir, Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and Jennifer Martin, Soloist.
Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the Church at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday and also at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Bryan DeLoach, Rick Bowers, Stacey Whitson, Russell Cooper, Vic DeLoach, Joseph Taylor, Lynn England and Adam Reeser. Honorary Pallbearers will be: The Young At Heart Sunday School Class, Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church, Lou Ann & Calvin Bennett, and Brad Kirk.
The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Kathy McGee and Dick Fair, Les & Pauline McKinney, Jim & Jackie Matheson, Lynn & Donna England, Debbie & Kenneth Nave, Jay & Rose Walsh, The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Employees, Dr. Tran & Staff, Dr. Robinson and Staff, Dr. Chatalini & Staff, Dr. Hamati & Staff, Dr. Jonathan Bremer, the entire Church family of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and the Carter County Rescue Squad.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
