JACOB ISAAC NETHERLY
Jacob Isaac Netherly, age 87, died in a local hospital this morning at 8:45 after an illness of four years.
Mr. Netherly was a prominent farmer of Johnson County, but has made his home in Carter county for the past 22 years. His wife, Mrs. Nancy Catherine Reece Netherly, preceding him in death four months ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors are five daughters; Mrs. R. A. Courtner, Butler; Mrs. R. L. Smith, Mrs. June Holly, Mrs. Lee Mace, Mrs. Jerome Netherly Crockett, all of Elizabethton; two sons, Oliver and Smith Netherly of Butler; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, among them are Master Sgt. John R Crockett of Fort Benning, Ga. and Private Frank Crockett of Camp Davis, N.C. who have made their home with Mr. Netherly. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will remain in the chapel of the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home until time for the services. Funeral arrangements will be made later.

Funeral services for Jacob Isaac Netherly will be conducted Sunday 2:30 P.M. at Calvary Baptist church with the Rev. George Westmoreland, Rev. James Sherwood, Rev. M. K. Cobble, officiating. Burial will be made in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers: Albert Hicks, Fred Ellis, M. F. Summerlin, John Bowers, Jeff Wagoner, Abner Reece, Will Shell, Luther Arnold. The pallbearers are requested to be at the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home Sunday at 2:00 P. M.
