  Notes	"The Tomahawk," Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1959 ROBERT BERRY GARLAND... ... 88, Shady Valley Rte. 1, died at his home Jan. 1, following an illness of one year. He was a native of Johnson County and a retired farmer. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Grace Garland; five sons, Hugh and Ambrose of Baltimore, Md., Doag of Flint, Mich., Fleet and Herman of Shady Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Vena Richards and Mrs. Georgia Myers of Elizabethton Rte. 5, Mrs. Ruth Campbell of Shady Valley; one brother, Matthew of Mountain City; one sister, Mrs. Emma Neal of Shady Valley; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Shady Valley Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clarence Lewis and Rev. Roger Blevins officiating. Burial was in Gentry cemetery. Pallbearers were Dennis Plummer, Avery Miller, Earl Howard, Dale Campbell, Darrell Brinkley, Ray Shore, Arthur Walton.
