- MOUNTAIN CITY — Frances Adlee Walker Robinson, age 96, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
She was born on February 16, 1915, in Neva, Tennessee, daughter of the late William Roby and Sally Stout Walker. In addition to her parents, Adlee was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Robinson; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
She was a former employee of Michael's Department Store, where she had worked for almost 40 years. Adlee was very active and enjoyed life to the fullest and had participated in the Senior Citizens Center exercise program for many years. She liked sewing, crocheting, working in her garden and canning, reading, working word and jigsaw puzzles and traveling.
She was a member of First Baptist Church for 70 years and was an active member in CARE. Adlee was a former Sunday School teacher, where she had taught both children's and adult classes. She was also an active member in both the WMU and Baptist Women's Leader.
Adlee is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Jane and Ralph Walters, of Elizabethtown, KY, Kay and Wayne Smith, of Kingston, TN, and Charlene and Kyle Kelley, of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren: Scott Davis and wife, Angie, Shawn Smith and wife, Mariah, Kristie Guess, Frances Kelley and Sarah Kelley; great grandchildren: Silas Guess, Anna Guess, Janie Smith, Kaitlyn Davis and William Davis; sister, Leota Rash, of Elizabethton, TN; brother, Hugh Walker, of Neva, TN; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; her church family; and many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at First Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Campbell to officiate.
Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Phillippi Cemetery
Active pallbearers will Wayne Smith, Kyle Kelley, Scott Davis, Shawn Smith, Dan Rash and Ed Walker.
