- Violet Branch - ELIZABETHTON
ELIZABETHTON — Mrs. Violet Grace Branch, age 97, formerly of 252 Liberty Hollow Road, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Mrs. Branch was a lifelong resident of Carter County and the daughter of the late Abraham and Rachel Williams. She was a Charter member and the oldest living member of Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church and also attended New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie M. Branch; one daughter, Loretta P. Diamond; two sons, Martin Van Branch and Carrick Ben Branch Sr.; six brothers, Teddy, Albert, Dewey, Lon, Rex and Harry Williams; and six sisters, Pearl Williams, Ruby Nidiffer, Daisy Grindstaff, Georgie Lewis, Josie Hodges and Flossie Williams. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanetta B. Webb, of Elizabethton; one daughter-in-law, LaVerne Kennedy Branch, of Crystal River, Florida; and eleven grandchildren, Kathy Webb, Kenneth Webb, Kaye Webb Garland, Noel Branch, Jewel Ward, Joann Nidiffer, Carrick Ben Branch Jr., April Head, Lori Helmdach, Susie Vearner and Donald Diamond. Eighteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Violet Grace Branch who died Tuesday, February 22, 2005, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Eulogies will be delivered by her grandchildren. Interment will follow in the Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, and Leonard Lewis, A.B. Grindstaff, Walter Pierce and Wes Grindstaff. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Pierce, Kenneth Williams, Wesley Grindstaff, K.C. Vearner, Sandy Helmdach, Justin Branch, Keith Head, John Diamond, Lynn Williams, Theodore Williams, Dale Ward, Donley Nidiffer, Kevin Fritts, Brad Hamm, Chris Garland, Summer Garland, David Proffitt, Todd Hamm and Travis Webb.
