He died from Phleg Erysipelas - (Medicine / Pathology) an acute streptococcal infectious disease of the skin, characterized by fever, headache, vomiting, and purplish raised lesions, esp on the face Also called Saint Anthony's fire. He died on 15 Jan 1863 in the General Hospital No. 2 in Lynchburg, VA. - IAW CSR for J. E. Trebbett Co E 37th NC Vols. ~ Listed in the Old City Cemetery, Confederate Section as J. E. Tribbet. He was CSA Company "E", 37th North Carolina. Died from thumb shot off. Probably gangrene. Married Mary Presnell Son of Solomon Trivett and Elizabeth Hartley Trivett.
