- Wayne Jackson Lewis, age 91, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 15, 2019 at his residence. He was born on April 9, 1927 in Taylors Valley, VA, a son of the late James Arthur and Eva Forrester Lewis. Wayne was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. He retired from Raytheon after 38 years of service and was a member of Central Holston Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Charlotte L. Morrison.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 67 years, Margaret Lewis; sons, Terry Wayne Lewis, John Alan Lewis and wife Sherry; sister, Clarice Holmes; brothers, Lawrence E. Lewis, George Shirl Lewis and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Christy Dickison and husband Larry, Melissa Thomas and husband Justin, Chris Lewis, and Charles “Chuck” Lewis; great granddaughters, Karisse Dickison, Callie Dickison, and Addyson Thomas.
A funeral service for Mr. Lewis will be held at 12 noon on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Weaver Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Page and Dr. Wayne Emery officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon prior to the service. The committal service and interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Damascus, VA. Military Honors will be conducted by DAV 40 Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
