- Lana Ruth Fair Walser, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 9, 2015 from the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Lana was born in Carter County on July 8, 1946, a daughter of the late James and Nina Price Fair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Alan Walser; two brothers, Kenneth and Steve Fair; and a sister, Billie Jackson.
Lana was a homemaker and was a member of Eastside Free Will Baptist Church since 1976. She loved spending time with her family, cooking for them, shopping and looking at quilts.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 51 years, Alan Walser, of the home; a daughter, Cindy Crowe and husband Brian, Johnson City; a son, Randy Walser and wife Bethany Walser, Nashville; two grandchildren, Alana Walser, of Nashville and Whitney Crowe, of Johnson City; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Jackson and Harold Walser and wife Mary Ann, all of Johnson City; three sisters-in-law, Joann Holley, Jean Tipton, and Judy McKamey, all of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Lana Ruth Fair Walser will be conducted 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at East Side Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Deaton, Rev. Claude Babb, and Dr. Allen Davis, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Luanne Powers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Thursday; or at the residence at any time.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Randy Walser, Brian Crowe, Jeff Carr, Larry Peters, Jason Hambrick and Johnny Holder. Honorary pallbearers will be the Eastside Free Will Baptist Church Choir that she loved so much, members of Eastside Free Will Baptist Church, and friends and neighbors of Alan and Lana since 1969.
