- James Edward Dugger, age 81, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on June 15, 1929 to the late Hiram Hunter Dugger and Barbara Keller Dugger. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two sons: Edward Dugger and Randy Dugger; sisters, Geneva Pilkin and Kate Fritts, and a brother, Truman Dugger. James had retired from the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center after 30 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. James was a member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679 for 52 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dollie Dugger; daughters: Delores Moore and husband Randall of Mountain City, TN and Kathy Morefield and husband Bud of Butler, TN; sons: Mitchell Dugger and wife Kathy of Luttrell, TN and Johnny Dugger and wife Melinda of Butler, TN; daughter-in-law, Vickie Dugger of Lubbock, TX; sister: Rose Hodge of Elizabethton, TN and Hazel Pierce of Piney Flats, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service and Masonic Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Buddy Morefield and Bill Haywood, Ministers, to officiate.
Graveside Service and Military Honors will follow at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery and will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
