- Elizabethton, Tenn., June 23--The funeral services of Mrs.. Joe Brumit were conducted from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Shell, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were in charge of the Rev. S. G. McPherson of the M. E. Church, South, assisted by Revs. Powell and Morton. As a special request Mrs. Brumit's favorite song, "Somebody Cares", was rendered by Mrs. Dungan Rhudy, Mrs. Nat Perry, Mrs. Nat Williams, C. H. White and N. H. Vanhoy. The pallbearers were: Willie Hampton, John Ryan, Fred Hathaway, Walter Dungan, Cameron Boring and R. L. Long.
The many and beautiful flowers were in charge of the Ladies' Aid Society of the Southern Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Mrs. Brumit had been very low for some time and realized that the end was near. She was 32 years of age and is survived by her husband, little daughter, Louise, two brothers, Aleck and Willard Shell, and her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Shell. Mrs. Brumit had a lovable disposition and a host of friends, as was evident from the large crown in attendance.
