- Murphy Hayes Hodges, 77, of Asheville, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Mr. Hodges was born in Whaley, NC and was a Navy veteran of WW II. He was a former appliance technician with Sears & Roebuck and was a Mason and a member of the Elk's Club on Haywood Street. He was also a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church in Avery County.
Surviving are his wife Clarice Oakes Hodges; two daughters, Evelyn Davis and Darlene Henson, both of Asheville; four grandsons, Eric Henson, Chris Hutcheson, Josh Hutcheson and Michael Hutcheson, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Burial will follow in the Veterans Cemetery.
