- Pearle Millsap Madgett, age 93, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. She was a native of Washington County, VA and a daughter of the late John Walter and Lula Ward Millsap. Mrs. Madgett moved to Elizabethton in 1943. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She was a homemaker and had worked as a licensed LPN.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Madgett was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bernard Madgett, Feb. 20, 1985, one son, Bill Madgett and three brothers, Earle, Clyde and Carl Millsap.
Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Nanette and Dale Harmon, Richmond, VA, Charlene and Steve Williams, Fairfield Glades, TN, Patricia and Wade Carnley, Graham, NC, one son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Jean Madgett, Elizabethton, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Alice Melvin, Bluff City and Ella Grace and James Carlyle, Bristol, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Madgett will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 5 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Music will be under the direction of John Bunn.
The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6 in Weaver Cemetery, Bristol.
