- Jill Bowman Childs died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at her home after an extended illness.
She was under the care of Wellmont Hospice. Mrs. Childs had been a resident of Sullivan County for 37 years. She attended public schools in Johnson City and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BS in health and physical education. She was a teacher at Bristol Virginia Junior High School and later in the Panama City, Fla., public school system.
Mrs. Childs is survived by her husband, Lester H. Childs Jr. of Broadmore Assisted Living in Bristol Tennessee; her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Marvin Blizard of Springfield, Va.; and a nephew, Robert E. Blizard of Gaithersburg, Md.
The entombment service will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Heritage Chapel of Memories at Glenwood Cemetery, with Dr. W.A. Johnson officiating. There will be no funeral home visitation, but friends may call at the home following the service.
