- Miriam Stanfield Barnett, 91, of Appalachian Christian Village, passed away on Monday October 24, 2011, at the Village in Johnson City.
She was a native of Liverpool, England and a daughter of the late Robert John and Evelyn Alice Hignett Stanfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Bascom Barnett, and by 8 sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Barnett attended the Church of God on Division Street.
Survivors include; a daughter and son in law, Ann and Gene Hensley of Knoxville; a son and daughter in law, Eddie and Pat Barnett of Johnson City; a step daughter and step son in law, Barbara and Roy Garvin of Johnson City; four Grandchildren, Beth Lively and her husband Darrell of Knoxville, Becky Tucker and her husband Brad of Johnson City, Jennifer Johnson and her husband Todd of Johnson City and Matt Hensley and his wife Tamara of Knoxville; six Great Grandchildren, McKenzie, Tiffany, Cody, Eli, Mattie and Emy; a brother, Sam Stanfield of Liverpool; several nieces and nephews all in Liverpool.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to a very special lady, Shelia Charles, who tenderly and lovingly cared for our mother through the last four years of her life. We also want to convey our sincere thanks for the care and love given to our mother by the staff and caregivers at Appalachian Christian Village.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Morris-Baker North Chapel at 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 25, 2011. Rev. Russell Ward will officiate. Burial services will be held at the Roselawn Memory Gardens at 11:00 am Thursday. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hensley, Darrell Lively, Bradley Tucker, Todd Johnson, Larry Lloyd and Justin Kenton.
