- Ada Eva Johnson, 102, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Pine Ridge Care Center following a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Stella Taylor Roberson and was born in Olympia, WA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harrison Johnson; and four sisters and three brothers.
Mrs. Johnson was retired from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Square Dancing Club and the East Side Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Helen Johnson Smith, Hoboken, GA, Virginia A. Depew, Elizabethton; four grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Elaine Ferguson, Hamptonville, NC, Diane and Don Raines and Shannon and Evie Smith, all of Jacksonville, FL, Shawn and Rhonda Smith, Hoboken, GA; eleven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Jeremy Rhoton officiating.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00 to 2:30 Sunday prior to the service.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Broome, Mr. Garland, Ryan Nabb and her church family, friends and neighbors.
