- Mrs. Emma Sanders Pennell, 86, of Zionville, widow of Edward F. Pennell, died Friday morning, September 28 at Caldwell County Hospice in Lenoir.
She was born April 6, 1904, daughter of John and Della Wilson Sanders. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, three sons, one sister, one brother, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, two brothers, and four sisters.
Services were conducted Monday afternoon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Officiating ere the Reverends Jerry Smith and Herbert McCoy. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
