- Carter County marriage records show a June DeLoach marrying T.P. Russell on 9 Mar 1885. I belive that this is a mis-reading of the record, and that this should be Jane DeLoach. I have no evidence to substantiate this speculation. There is a marriage record in Carter County for the following marriage: Jane DeLoach to James Fair 24 December 1889 There were two Jane DeLoaches alive then who could have married James Fair, the Jane in the record, and a Mary Jane DeLoach, who was the daughter of John DeLoach, Jr., and Susannah Oliver. I conclude that Mary Jane DeLoach was the one who married James Fair based upon the following: Census records indicathe that the daughter of Thomas and Perlina was born in about 1853. These records indicate that Mary Jaane was born 1861-1865. The death record for Mary Jane DeLoach is: Mary Jane Fair died 20 December 1920, born 18 April 1865, parents were John DeLoach and Susan Oliver. Informant James H. Fair. Buried Hyder Cemetery.
