5301 Kathrine A. Truitt Shipley was born February 13, 1949, in Fort Knox, KY.

She lived the majority of her life in Johnson City, TN. She passed on April 29, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by both parents, Joseph M. Truitt and Annie B. Heaton. She leaves behind a brother, Bryan Truitt of Jonesborough, TN; a sister, Sandra T. Whitehead of Buford, GA; her daughter, Morgan Shipley and her grandson, Avery Stephens of the home. She was a graduate of ETSU where she earned her BSN. She completed her post graduate degree, MSN, from the University of Phoenix. Kathrine spent 17 years as the Infectious Disease and Employee Health Nurse at Woodridge Hospital, retiring in 2004. A celebration of life will be held at Carver Recreation on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 3pm – 5pm.

5302 Kathryn Bradshaw Peters, 93, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018, from Johnson City Medical Center. Kathryn was born in Carter County to the late George and Virginia Bowers Bradshaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Peters, and her brother, Robert Bradshaw.
Kathryn was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church for many years, where she had taught Bible School and sang in the church choir. Kathryn especially enjoyed playing bingo at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Michael Peters and wife Billie, Elizabethton, and Rick Peters, also of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Russell Bennett, Randall Bennett, Kristi Colbaugh, Kara McGhee and Renee` Garland; 10 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Patty Russell.
A service to celebrate the life of Kathryn Bradshaw Peters will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 8, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Jack Lloyd and Rev. Nathan Jennings officiating. Music will be provided by Russell Bennett, soloist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, in the Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

5303 Kathryn S. "Kate" Umbarger, 88, Johnson City passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, in the Appalachian Christian Village.

A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Jennie Morefield Stout. She had lived in LaSiena, California, for 17 years before returning to Tennessee.

She was a member of the Johnson City Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Umbarger, August 10, 1988; and by three brothers: Clyde, Ron and Estill Stout.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Michael & Barbara Black, Jonesborough; Two Grandsons: Jeremy and Seth Black, both of Phoenix, Arizona; One Sister: Zola Birch, Denton, Texas; Several Nieces & Nephews.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in the Rock Springs Cemetery, Butler, with Pastor Paul Dixon officiating.

Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12 Noon Wednesday to go to the cemetery.

5304 Kathryn, "Nan" was the daughter of Viney M. Shoun and Vic Holliman. Kathryn was born out of wed-lock. Her mother, Viney M. Shoun, later married John H. Colbaugh and Kathryn took the Colbaugh surname. Shoun, Kathryn "Nannie" (I41703)
 
5305 Kathy Marie Henegar Reece, Butler, died Oct. 19, 2019, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Kathy, 63, was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County. She was the daughter of the late Blaine and Stella Hardin Henegar. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Reece.

Kathy was a graduate of Hampton High School and was retired from Lowe's Food Stores.

She was a member of Sims Hill Christian Church, but attended Fish Springs Baptist Church.

Very talented in arts and crafts, Kathy enjoyed quilting, crocheting, baking and decorating cakes. She also enjoyed making seasonal decorations. Kathy was a very talented seamstress and in past years had directed a number of weddings and also made several wedding gowns. She had won some blue ribbons for her quilts.

She especially enjoyed the time spent with her sewing club friends.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Reece of the home; a brother, Blaine "Bud" Henegar, Jr. and his fiancée, LaDonna Williams of Houston, Tx.; a grandson, Sam Swecker, Eizabethton; one uncle, Teddy Hardin, Hampton; five aunts, Helen "Sally" Matherly and Rozella Hardin, Elizabethton; Jane Browder, Gray; Rebecca Shipley, Blountville, and Elaine Freeman, Boones Creek; a very special friend, Phyllis Slemp; and her pet companion, Sassy.

She is also survived by a number of cousins, in-laws, and special friends.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Michelle Lewis, Amy Jackson, and Belle for their love and care; to the staff at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, especially the nurses in the ICU unit; the Carter County Rescue Squad; and Dr. Kenneth Hopland and Medical Care.

It was Kathy's wish to be cremated with no formal services. Her ashes will be disposed of in a private ceremony to be held at a later date.

5306 Kathy Shook, age 57, of Elk Park went home to be with Lord on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019.

A native of Avery County, she was born on March 30, 1962, to Madeline Palmer Sheppard of Newland and the late Preacher Charles Collis Sheppard.

Kathy attended Blevins Creek Church and enjoyed fishing, singing, going on outings with her sisters and spending time with her family.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a Brother: Danny Sheppard and a Sister: Linda Sheppard.

5307 Kay Church, age 63, of Eliz-a-beth-ton, went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2015, from her res-i-dence.
Kay was a na-tive of Carter County and was a daugh-ter of the late But-ler and Mary Scalf Jen-kins. In ad-di-tion to her par-ents, she was pre-ceded by three broth-ers, Le-roy Hill, De-nis Hill and Ricky Hill; a sis-ter, Della Mae Daven-port; and a brother-in-law, Bill El-li-ott.
Kay was the caf-e-te-ria man-ager at Hamp-ton Ele-men-tary School and was of the Bap-tist faith. She en-joyed spend-ing time with her grand-chil-dren and "her kids" at Hamp-ton Ele-men-tary, cook-ing and spend-ing her sum-mers by the swim-ming pool.
Left to cher-ish her mem-ory is her hus-band, Rick Church, of the home; two daugh-ters, Cindy Church Steven-son and her hus-band, Doug, and Re-nee McNeal and her hus-band, Steve, all of Eliz-a-beth-ton; her grand-chil-dren, Tessa Steven-son and Ryleigh McNeal; her broth-ers, Gary Hill and wife, Judy, Terry Scalf and wife Gale, Paul Hill and wife, Carol, and Ce-cil Hill and wife, Norma; and her sis-ters, Sue El-li-ott and Betty Mathes and hus-band, Chuck, all of Eliz-a-beth-ton. A ser-vice to honor the life of Kay Church will be con-ducted at 7:00 PM on Fri-day, March 20, 2015, in the gym-na-sium of Hamp-ton Ele-men-tary School with Rev. Ron-nie Camp-bell and Rev. Shane Waters of-fi-ci-at-ing. Mu-sic will be pro-vided by Terra Scalf and Va-nessa Cox.
The fam-ily will re-ceive friends from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM in the gym-na-sium, prior to the ser-vice on Fri-day. The fam-ily re-quests that ev-ery-one wear their "Pray for Kay" shirts, in honor of Miss Kay.
The grave-side ser-vice will be con-ducted at 11:00 AM on Satur-day, March 21, 2015, in the Hardin Ceme-tery. 5309 Keith Campbell, 69, of the Little Milligan Community of Butler, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2023, at his home. Keith was born in Elizabethton to the late Kyle and Ethel (Smith) Campbell. Keith had worked in the twisting unit at North American Rayon Corporation and had also worked at Timberland in Mountain City. Keith enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also liked to cook and being with his dogs. Those left to remember and cherish Keith’s memory include his wife, Phyllis (Davenport) Campbell, of the home; his sons, Mason Campbell of Butler and Charles (Jennifer) Campbell of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Jude Campbell and Moriah Campbell; a brother, Steve Campbell of Elizabethton; two sisters, Nelda (Doug) Hatley of Butler and Patricia (Maurice) Widener of Mountain City; and a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Melissa Davenport. Several nieces and nephews also survive. No services are currently scheduled.

5310 Keith Conley Presnell, age 69, of Andy Hicks Road, Banner Elk, passed away Monday morning, February 24, 2020, at his home.

Keith was born June 15, 1950, in Watauga County, a son of the late Henry Clay Presnell and Hazel Estep Presnell. He was the retired owner/operator of K&G Automotive Repair.

He is survived by his significant other: Melinda Presnell of the home; two Sons: Gary W. Presnell and wife Melissa of Banner Elk, and Terry Presnell and wife Christina of Myrtle Beach, SC; four Grandsons: Justin Presnell, Austin Presnell, Ryan Presnell and Dustin Presnell, all of Banner Elk; three Great-grandsons: Landon Presnell, Aiden Harris, and Westen Presnell; one Great-granddaughter: Aleeah Presnell; five Sisters: Rilda Everhart and husband Mike of Greensboro, Beulah Clawson and husband Troy, Patty Clawson and husband Raymond, Sue Johnson and husband Allen, and Louisa Clawson and husband Allen, all of Elk Park; two Brothers: Bobby Presnell and wife Pat of Vilas, and Billy Presnell and wife Glenda of Greensboro; and a Brother-in-law: Pat Estep of Old Beech Mountain.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three Sisters: Mary Presnell, Ida Presnell, and Betty Estep; and five Brothers: Gurney, Calloway, Ransom, Kenney, and Benny Presnell.

Funeral services for Keith Conley Presnell were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, March 1, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body lay in state at the chapel from 1 to 2 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Charlie Martin, Gary Presnell, and Austin Presnell. Burial followed in the Presnell Cemetery

5311 KELLER, Texas — Janice K. Ferguson, 72, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at her home in Keller, Texas.
A native of Elizabethton, Janice lived the majority of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mozella Treadway of Valley Forge. Before moving to Texas three years ago, Janice attended First Christian Church in Johnson City and worked as a dental hygienist in Kingsport for over 50 years, working for Drs. Frank Buckles, Robert Hodge, and John Machen. She loved her patients and became close friends with many of them. Janice was a loving wife, mother, and recent grandmother who adored her three-year-old granddaughter, Alyssa. Janice will now be reunited with her late husband, Henry Ferguson, who passed away last year.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rose Ferguson of Fort Worth, Texas, and her granddaughter, Alyssa Rose Ferguson.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tenn., with a graveside service to follow at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens in Johnson City at 3 p.m.

5312 Kelly Buchanan, age 93, of the Frank Community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at his home.

A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late Isaac and Nettie English Buchanan. He was also preceded in death by a Daughter: Marsha Kay Buchanan, who passed away in 1964; Grandson: Christopher Buchanan, who passed away in 2009; three Sisters and four Brothers. Kelly was a Member and Deacon at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Elk Park. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved his family.

Surviving is his loving Wife of 64 years: Eunice Brewer Buchanan; Son: Colin Buchanan and wife, Barbara, of Whitaker Branch; Great-grandchildren: Makenna Buchanan and Lexie Buchanan; Sister-in-law: Colleen Buchanan and Niece: Linda Buchanan and husband, Charles, of Elk Park. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Allen Laws officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow in the Buchanan-McKinney Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Fred Hoilman, Ted Hoilman, Teddy Ray Hoilman, Bill Grindstaff, Logan Johnson and Landon Johnson.

5313 Kenneth D. Campbell, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 08, 2018. He was born on July 10, 1937 to the late Isaac Newton Campbell and Rebecca Lillie Heaton Campbell. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Campbell Bowers, brothers, Richard Campbell and Leslie Campbell.

Kenneth was a United States Navy Veteran, having retired following 20 years of service. He loved to travel the roads with Sue visiting family, friends and making new friends. He was a skilled and gifted wood craftsman and also enjoyed golf and bowling. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 56 years, Sue D. Campbell, daughter and son-in-law, Elena Mabry and husband Robert, grandchildren, Danielle Mada and husband Adrian, Robert Mabry II and wife Britne, great grandchildren, Anabel, Kamryn, Joshua and Christopher Mabry and Adrian II, Isabella, Guillianna and Giovanni Mada, brother, Wade Campbell and wife Gladys. He is also survived by extended family, Jerry, Susan, Ryan, Nick Whitener, several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Steven Spencer and Pastor Gwyn Anderson officiating. Special music will be provided by the Calvary Baptist Church Choir, Kenneth South and Shirley Potter. Graveside service and interment with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Reece Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Campbell, Michael Campbell, David Campbell, George Sampson, Nick Whitener, Ryan Whitener, Jerry Whitener. Honorary pallbearers are the Men's Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church.

5314 Kenneth Eugene "Hawkeye" Humphrey, 80, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from the Johnson City Medical Center. Kenneth was born, January 24, 1939, to the late Williams Frances & Rosa Reece Humphrey. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for baseball and was Captain of the Basketball Team. He was retired from the Elizabethton Water Department after 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Kenneth enjoyed basketball, baseball, visiting with family and friends, working in his flower garden. He was an Avid UT Family and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years: Linda Matherly Humphrey, one brother: Bill Humphrey, three sisters: Nora Lou Estep and Ruth Baker and Edna Collins, two nephews: David Humphrey and Johnny Baker and one niece: Bobby Lynn Matherly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter: Lisa Humphrey, Elizabethton, a granddaughter: Alisha Sexton of the home, grandson: Joey (Kelly) Sexton of Todd, NC. One great-grandson: Joseph Sexton, Todd NC, one on the way in 2020. Two sisters: Mary Bryant and Marsha (Bob) Dorsey, Elizabethton. Several nieces & nephews.

A service to honor the life of Kenneth Eugene Humphrey will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. John H. Smith, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.

5315 Kenneth H. Cable, 76, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, March 24, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Cable was a follower and lover of Jesus. He was a member of Piney Flats Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Annice Cable; two brothers: Junior and Bill Cable; two sisters: Shirley Heaton and Iva Lee Briggs.

His is survived by his sister: Mitzy Tony; Two Daughters: Judy Stanton, Lorraine Tipton and her husband, Steve Tipton; His Son: Donald Cable; Two very special Grandchildren: Kenny Cable and Lacy Tipton.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Elizabeth Jones and his friends at Piney Flats Church for their kindness.

5316 Kenneth Howard Harrison I, 72, 518 Academy Street, Elizabethton, Tn.. passed away Monday evening, June 20, 2005, at the V.A. Medical Center Hospital, Asheville, N.C., after a brief illness.

Mr. Harrison was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Spencer Roosevelt and Alice Harvey Harrison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Jonnie Timbs Harrison, a brother, Roy Wade Harrison, and a sister, Gladys Scalf.

Mr. Harrison was a member and Sunday school teacher of Harmony Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, AARP, and National Republican. He was a prominent Certified Public Accountant in Greene County, along with his wife and business partner, Jonnie Harrison, for many years.

Mr. Harrison was a decorated Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and also served one tour in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Howard Harrison II and Feather Harrison, Afton; two daughters, Kimberly Franklin and Jeanie Harrison, both of Greene County; three grandchildren, Alvin Franklin Jr., of the U.S. Navy, Keera Franklin and Aaron Franklin, both of Chucky; four brothers, Bill Harrison, Johnson City, Jim Harrison and Reynold Harrison, both of Elizabethton, and Gene Harrison, of Florida; three sisters, Pauline Hodges, Tipp City, Ohio, Ann Coffey, Blowing Rock, N.C., and Sherry Coffey, Elizabethton; special friends, James Timbs, Afton, Gene and Brenda Timbs, Lawrence and Dixie Timbs, Wallace and Geneva Timbs, Fannie Taylor and Retha Hamm, all of Elizabethton, Carl and Marie Shelton, Joe and Shirley Cansler, Eddie and June Farris, Carol Jones and Rex and Vicki Solomon, all of Greeneville, David Peek, Chucky, and Rob Weaver, Greeneville.

5317 Kenneth J. Northmore, age 84 of Elizabethton went home to be with his Lord, Monday, January 16, 2012 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. A native of Chicago, IL, he had lived in Carter County most of his life. He was a son of the late Robert and Lillian Northmore. He was retired from Holston Ordnance Works and was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Mr. Northmore was a former Band Director at Unaka High School, he also founded The Besty Town Fife and Drum Corp in 1975. He was an original member of the cast of The Wataugans which is now called Liberty. He was a Eagle Scout and former Scout Master and loved to collect model trains.


Survivors include his wife of over 54 years, Chris Lyons Northmore, Elizabethton, son, Mike Northmore and his wife, Susan, Elizabethton, one granddaughter, Heather Minton, Kingsport, sister-in-law and her husband, Lillie and Richard Fergosi, Elizabethton, sister-in-law, Merle Lynch, Birmingham, AL.


The funeral service for Mr. Northmore will be conducted, at 8 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. prior to the service or friends may also call at the residence of his son, Mike, 1028 Broad Street, Elizabethton, anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Horn, O.B. Born in Kentucky on April 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Kenneth James Brewer, Sr. and Etta Clarice Moody Brewer. He was retired from ABF and attended Hope Community Church. Mr. Brewer was a member of the Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed Brewer, Richard Brewer, Robert Brewer, Roy Brewer and Jim Brewer and five sisters, Lula Mae Brewer, Iva Lee Raines, Juanita Cuthbertson, Barbara Styles and Pat Waycaster.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Oaks Brewer; son, Kenny Brewer and wife, Linda of Graham; daughter, Patricia Pruett of Shelby; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Skip Allen officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.

5321 Kenneth Loyd Deloach, 82, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Charles and Bonnie Odom Deloach. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and attended George Washington University.
He retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. Following his retirement he was employed for 14 years as a Perquiman agent for the General Services Administration, US Government.
Kenneth and Pat had lived in Woodbridge, Virginia, for 17 years before returning to Elizabethton. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, where he had formerly served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and served in other capacities of the church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Patricia Nave Deloach; One Daughter & Son-In-Law: Mary Jane & Morgan French, Houston, Texas; One Son & Daughter-In-Law: Kenneth Allen and Donna Deloach, Suffolk, Virginia; Two Grandchildren: Edward Clifton French and Meredith Holly French, both of Baton Rouge, La.; His special "Little Friend," Madeline. 5322 Kenneth Max Braswell, 63, formerly of Southside Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, in Greeneville, Tenn., following an extended illness.
A Carter County native, he was the son of the late James M. and Myrtle Hyder Braswell. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Braswell, one son, Kenneth Michael Braswell, two sisters, Frances Stout and Leona Elliott, and two brothers, Gene Braswell and Tyler Braswell.
He was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Mr. Braswell was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a Sargent First Class and served two terms in the Korean Conflict and two terms in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Maxine Johnson, Wilmington, N.C., three grandchildren, Jimmie Michael Braswell, Wilmington, N.C., Teresa Johnson, Orlando, Fla., and Timothy Johnson, Wilmington, N.C. one great-granddaughter, Jasmine Nicole Braswell, Wilmington, N.C., one brother and sister-in-law, James and Wilma Braswell, Elizabethton, two aunts, and several nieces and nephews.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late J.G. & Dorothy Nadine Ellis DeLoach. He was a 1966 graduate of Happy Valley High School. Kenneth was retired from Kennametal Inc. Following his retirement he was employed at Chaparral Pontiac-Buick and GMC, Johnson City. Kenneth was a member of the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.

5325 Kenneth Raye McQueen, 66, passed away on December 1, 2021 at his home. Kenneth was born on September 13, 1955 to the late Bradford and Lillie McQueen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Archie James Garland Jr. and Richard Lynn Garland, and nephew, B.J. Snyder.
Kenny was a huge sports fan and always cheered for the Tennessee Vols. He loved joking around with people and always had a good time. He was always friendly to everyone he met and had never met a stranger. He was also a great and loving uncle.

5326 Kenneth Vaughn Hardin, 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Hardin worked at Holston Defense from November of 1961 to September 1997 with 30 years of perfect attendance. He was a fast pitch softball pitcher from the early 1960's through the 1970's for several teams.
Mr. Hardin and his wife owned and operated their family business, Ken's Fashions, for many years. He was a member of Siam Baptist Church but attended Lynn Valley Baptist Church. He was known as "Pappaw" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved so much.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. Bullock Hardin; parents, Robert and Bertie Hardin; daughter, Lisa Ellen Hardin; and granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Holly.
He is survived by his children, Sharon Edwards and her husband, Gary, Kenny Hardin and his wife, Tammy, and Angie Holly and her husband, Billy; brother, Ira Dean Hardin; step-brother, R.L. Gobble; grandchildren, Stephanie Garland and her husband, Timmy, Korey Hardin, Bethany Ingram and her husband, Alex, and Lucas Holly; great-grandchildren, Colby Garland and Cambrie Ingram; and several nieces and nephews.

5328 KENNEWICK, WA - Patricia G. “Pat” Crowder, 88, of Kennewick, WA passed away on March 1, 2020. Patricia was born to the late William R. and Cordia (Greenlee) Grindstaff in Washington County TN.

Patricia was a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church. She was a caring nurse for many years expressing love and care that only she could.

Patricia graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1949. She went on to attend East Tennessee State College, and worked in the Medical Office of Charles S. Gresham.

In addition to her parents Patricia was preceded in death by her husband; Gene S. Crowder, brothers; Donald and Merle Grindstaff, sisters; Garnet Moody and Jean Hobson.

Kenny loved to attend NASCAR races at Bristol Motor Speedway and enjoyed listening to music by Ralph Stanley and Elvis Presley. Kenny loved to go to church and spend time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing games on his Xbox. Kenny was a member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill, Tenn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncles, Edward Jones, George Jones, Willie Jones and Gurney Jones; two aunts, Vertie Taylor and Eula Carver; and a nephew, Jesse Deloach.

He was also preceded in death by a Daughter: Travis Nicole Vance, who passed away in 2006; a Brother: Allen Vance and a Niece: Robin Greene. Kenny was a house painter for over 35 years.

5331 Kermit Lane "Bill" Lowe of Telford passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family, on August 13, 2017. He was 96 years old. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Agnes Ratcliff Penick Lowe, step-children Donna Penick (North Hills, CA) and Edward Penick (Roanoke, VA), daughter-in-law Eline Penick (Roanoke, VA), grandchildren Samuel Hartsfield (Portland, OR), Anna Dawahare (Porter Ranch, CA), Tech Sgt John Penick (Okinawa) and Elizabeth Penick (Asheville, NC), five great-grandchildren, niece Pat Lowe Reece, and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Callie Shoun Lowe and Kemp Lowe, five brothers, and four sisters. He was the longest-lived member of the family.

Bill was born July 8, 1921, and grew up in the Bethel community of Johnson County on a farm originally cleared by his ancestors in the early 1800s. He moved to Carter County and then to Johnson City, where he worked for several furniture and appliance companies. In 1959, he married Agnes Ratcliff Penick, a widow with two young children.

Bill was driven to have his own business, so in 1968, he started Bill Lowe's Carpet Shop, whose motto was "We measure by the golden rule." After several years in Johnson City, he relocated the business to Jonesborough. Because of his integrity, many area churches and families chose him for their carpet needs. He served his customers well for over 25 years.

Bill's special interests were family, farm life, Buicks, antique cars, and travel. He and Agnes traveled to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Alaska and most of the lower 48 states.

Bill and Agnes are faithful members of First Baptist Church in Jonesborough, where he served in different capacities for many years. He was active in the Bowmantown Ruritan and Meals on Wheels. Bill was a faithful and devoted husband, generous to those in need, and much loved by his family.

Funeral services for Mr. Lowe will be conducted Thursday, August 17, 2017, 1:30 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. James Harrison officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 to 1:30 prior to the service.

5333 Kevin Lynn Stover Sr., 51, Elizabethton, was born on July 23, 1969, and passed away at Sycamore Shoals Hospital on March 7, 2021, due to illness.
Kevin Lynn Stover Sr. was a God-fearing man that loved his life to the fullest and wasn’t afraid of “Nuttin.” He loved playing guitar, writing music and singing for everyone to enjoy. Now that he has his angel wings he is playing in the angel band.
He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy Kyle Stover.

5334 Kevin Ray Whitehead, 53, Roan Mountain, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021, as the results of an automobile accident.
Kevin was a CNA and was a caregiver to several people. He loved to work in flowers and decorate.
Kevin attended Roan Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Whitehead.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Johnson Whitehead; one sister, Rita Tolley; two brothers, Clifford Whitehead and his fiancée Judy King, and Roger Whitehead and wife Margaret; several nieces and nephews; and his special cousins, Robin Stewart, Angie Whitehead, Daren Lacy, Billie Chinault and Diane Johnson.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 25, in the Johnson Roan View Cemetery with the Rev. Derrick Hughes officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday, will be Darren Lacy, Rusty Estep, Andy Stout, Adam Johnson, Travis Whitehead and Coby Tolley.

5335 Kezia Nicholson, daughter of Wright and Frances DeLoach Nicholson was born
June 29 1767 and married 1st John McDowell by whom she had one son. John
disappeared one evening in late 1789 or early 1790, while taking a walk
after dinner and was never seen or heard of since. After waiting a long
time hoping for his return, Kezia Nicholson McDowell married on Jan 26,
1796 to Robert Wilson. In 1816, after the birth of 7 Wilson children, Kezia
and Robert Wilson and several of their children moved to Madison County, Alabama.

5349 KINGSPORT - Charlotte A. Grogg, 60, went to be with the Lord on Monday (August 11, 2003) at her residence.

Charlotte was born April 1, 1943 in Church Hill, TN; the daughter of Davis E. Bombailey and the late Rachel Robinette Bombailey.

Surviving are her loving husband and best friend, Harold Grogg of the home; her daughter, Rebecca Hilton; her daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Robert Feathers; grandchildren, Andrew David and Benjamin Davis Hilton and Matilee Elizabeth Feathers; her father, Dave Bombailey; brother, Davis Bombelli; sisters, Joy (Mrs. Tommy) Parker and Judy (Mrs. Eric) DeLoach; special friends, Daisy Carroll, Mrs, Gene Mottern, Mrs. Roscoe Elam and Nora Light.

Charlotte was a loving mother, special grandmother and devoted wife. She leaves many special nieces and nephews and friends. She was a successful business woman as proprietor of Rachel's Daughter.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gale Flannary and the Rev. Maurice Lay officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Old Union Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews and great nephews, Mike Parker, Brett DeLoach, Sam DeLoach, Steve Harris, Mark Testerman, Josh Edmonson, Thomas Edmonson and Bo Ford.

Honorary bearers will be Seth Testerman, Houston Harris, Bryce DeLoach, Seth Rimer, Justin Rimer, Matthew Parker, Christopher Parker and Christopher Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Cancer society or the American Heart Association.

5350 KINGSPORT - Donald Edward "Duck" Campbell, age 79, of Kingsport, TN passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 with his wife by his side.

Don was born October 16, 1938 in Elizabethton, TN to the late George and Nora Campbell. Having a strong patriotic spirit, Don enlisted in the Marine Reserves from 1956 – 1962. After Don's service in the Marine Reserves, he had a career in the manufacturing industry at North American Rayon. Don was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN where he made his home and raised his children.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nora Campbell of Johnson City, TN and his brothers, Robert Campbell of Watauga, TN and Fred Campbell of Elizabethton, TN. He is survived by his wife, Joy Gill of Kingsport, TN; his sister, Phyllis Taylor and her husband Kenneth of Johnson City, TN and his children, Jassen Edward Campbell of Bristol, TN and Donald Chad Campbell and his wife Amy of Asheville, NC. Don is also survived by his grandson who he adored, Davis Edward Campbell, son of Jassen Edward Campbell of Bristol, TN; a sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service of worship in celebration of Don's life will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services, 101 East F Street, Elizabethton, TN with Rev. Mark Fowler of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service.

A private graveside service will be held in Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City, TN. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
