1302 Brian Keith Edwards, age 56, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at his home. A native of Erwin, Keith is a son of the late Ray and Kathleen (Angel) Edwards.

He was a 21 year veteran of the Erwin Police Department where he served as Assistant Police Chief. He was also a Private Investigator, Firefighter, member of the Erwin SWAT Team, Unicoi County Rescue Squad and served 16 years as a Tactical Police Officer for Nuclear Fuel Services. Keith was a 2nd degree Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu and a competition pistol shooter. He held several marksmanship awards and National Championship Shooter awards. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Brian Keith Edwards in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Close family friend, Sammy Morelock and Pastor David Fox will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 9:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Ricker, Jason Huskins, Allen Pennington, Craig Anspaugh, Josh Payne, Ron Widener, Brent Miller, Paul Kerr, Chris Nelson, Daniel Bowman, Dewayne Hensley, Wayne Edwards, Dylan Brown and Terry Cox. Anyone who rode motorcycles with Keith are asked to ride them to the cemetery.

1303 Brian Patton, 45, Limestone, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Patton was born April 19, 1977, in Johnson City. He was the husband of Hannah Patton and father of Holly Patton, Limestone.
Brian was a mechanic at Cardinal Glass in Kingsport. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He was a great and honest man who was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He loved spending his time teaching his daughter how to hunt, farm and help others.
Brian was a born again baptized Christian who put all his faith in God. While he may not have been able to attend church regularly, he made a point to watch sermons at home. Brian is now at peace with the Lord in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Ida Patton and Homer Blankenship.
In addition to his wife and daughter, survivors include his parents, Ronnie Patton and Judy Blakenship Patton; sister, April Julian (Randy); grandmother, Hilda Blankenship; mother-in-law, Sallie Fatherree; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, at New Salem Cemetery with Rev. Craig Ponder officiating.

1304 Bridget DeLoach, 94, of Chatham passed away on September 14, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Ave in Chatham on Saturday, September 17th at 9:15am. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. Friends are invited to visit at Wm. A. Bradley Funeral Home, 345 Main St in Chatham on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm.
Bridget was born in New York City, the daughter of Domenico and Maria Comiso. She graduated from Girls Commercial High School in Brooklyn. In her younger years, she was an office worker for several businesses in the New York metropolitan area. Bridget was a member of the Columbiettes in Brooklyn (the women's auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus), the Senior Citizens Club of the Chatham's and St. Patrick Church. She enjoyed painting, especially watercolors, reading mystery novels and was an excellent cook as well. Bridget overcame many health issues in her life with courage, dignity and faith in God. She was a selfless woman who put her family's needs before her own. Bridget treated everyone with respect and kindness, made allowances for other's faults, and never passed judgement on anyone. She always believed her faith would sustain her during difficult times.

Bridget was the beloved wife of the late Willard Ivan DeLoach. She was the loving mother of Christine Maurer and her husband John, and John DeLoach and his wife Rose. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, William Maurer and his wife Courtney, Alexander Maurer, John DeLoach and his wife Kate and Christopher DeLoach. She was also excited and thrilled to welcome her great granddaughter Sabrina Maurer.

1305 BRISTOL - Elizabeth Maxine Clark Sams, 76, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the Bristol Hospice House.

She was born September 14, 1942 in Carter County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Mack and Elizabeth Clark. Maxine taught chemistry and physics for 30 years and retired from Bristol Virginia High School in 1999. She was a member of Central Christian Church and was very active until illness forced her to slow down. Maxine was involved with Meals on Wheels, Hospice House, Bristol Food Pantry and Youth Programs

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles N. Sams; daughter, Lisa Leonard and husband David; son, Ed Sams and wife Jackie; granddaughter, Maura Trice and husband Tim; great grandchildren, Eddie and Gabby Trice; sister, Karen Salyer and husband Dave; nieces, Elizabeth Bellamy and husband David, Kelly Medley and husband Cale, and Sandra Osterhaus and husband Tim; sister-in-law, Martha Sams; aunt, Nettie Clark; several cousins; and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Central Christian Church with Joel Faidley officiating. The family will receive friends 1 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will follow at Shelby Hills Cemetery with Minister Mark Overton officiating. Pallbearers will be David Leonard, Tim Trice, Bobby Mosier, Dennis Holbrook, Mike Hodgson, Rob Feagins, Harold Campbell and John O'Dell.

1306 BRISTOL - Horace Ledwell Jr., age 77, of 4241 Old Jonesboro Rd., Bristol, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in the Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 25, 1928, in Johnson City, Tn., a son of the late Horace M. and Mary Josephine Light Ledwell, and has lived in the area since 1980. He attended Valley Pike Presbyterian Church. He served 49 years as a merchant seaman, delivered supplies during the Vietnam War & Desert Storm, and visited many ports around the World.

He was preceded in death by sister, Rosemary Ledwell Metts; and brother, Franklin Monroe Ledwell.

He is survived by: Brothers: Richard L. Ledwell and wife, Evelyn, Ronald E. Ledwell and wife, Sandy, Sister: Margie Grindstaff and husband, William P.; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Nephew: Richard L. Ledwell II; Special Friend: Dr. William A. Wiley.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Goforth and Rev. Claude Pennington officiating. The burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.

1307 BRISTOL - Sherry Ann Montgomery, 75 of Bristol, TN graduated this life to eternal life April 6, 2022. She was the wife of Dr. Gary Montgomery Sr. and served as First Lady of Parkway Baptist Church for 27 years. Sherry was a 1964 graduate of Elizabethton High School and earned her Master’s Degree at “Ecneirepxe” University. She was employed by Bristol Tennessee School System for a number of years.
She is survived by 3 sons, Gary Jr. (Heather), Micah (Callie) and Jared (Ashley); four grandsons, Christian (Meredith). Mason, Jaxson and Augustus and 3 great-granddaughters Celie Belle, Harper Claire and Finley Laine and one sister Carolyn Janette Buck of Livingston, TX.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Georgia Buckles; one sister Goldia Sommers, and one brother Sonny Buckles.
Sherry had a servant’s heart. She was selfless always putting others needs over her own. Her love and passion for her family was second to none. She loved doting on her grandsons and precious great-granddaughters and so many others she took under her wing over the years. She will be fondly remembered for her encouraging words of “Can’t never could!” warning statements of “Wait till your Daddy comes home” and final sentiments “I Love you BIG!”

Fayette C. Arnold

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. -- Mr. Fayette Charles Arnold, age 86, of 3286 Fall Branch
Road, Mountain City, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday,
June 2, 2003, at the Holston Valley Hospital.

He was a native of Johnson County and was born April 19, 1917, to the late
Kelly Arnold and Cliffie Phillips. He was preceded in death by one daughter,
Janice Arnold; one brother, Emitt Arnold; and one sister, Hester Snyder. He was
a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School
teacher for several years. He was a World War II veteran having served in the
U.S. Army.

Everyone that came to know Fayette loved him. He was a wonderful Christian
husband, father and friend. His gentle spirit will be missed by all.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Margie Dowell Arnold of the
home; two sons: Scotty Arnold, Johnson City; and Kelly Arnold, Johnson City;
six sisters: Rena Brown, Abingdon; Nell Galliher, Johnson City; June Smith,
Bristol Virginia; Inez Wallace, Zionville, N.C.; Vean Reynolds, Charlotte,
N.C.; and Lula Bell Wallace, Baltimore; three brothers: Leavie Arnold, Mountain
City; Dean Arnold, Mountain City; and Danny Arnold, Mountain City; one
grandchild, Sophia Elizabeth Arnold, Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, from the Chapel of
the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. David Bentley and Rev Bruce Simcox to
officiate. Music was under the direction of The Fletchers.

Military graveside services were held 1 p.m. Thursday from the Dowell Cemetery
accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers were Van Arnold, Frankie Smith, Selmar Potter, Swan Hayes, Ed
Roark, J.R. Arnold and Mike May.

Honorary Pallbearer was Earl Arnold.

The family received friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the
Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.

Letha Sluder
Letha Sluder, 99, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday September 21, 2014, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Ms. Sluder was born on January 17, 1915, in Shady to the late Allen "Jim" Wright and Gerdie McEwen Wright.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Sluder who passed away in 2005 and was also preceded by three sons, Herbert, Cline, and Curtis Sluder; and three brothers, Kyle, Preston, and Haynes J.J. Wright; TWO sisters, Retha Morley and Lena Ruth Douglas; and grandchildren, Tim Sluder, and Michelle Sluder.
She was a former member of the Shady Valley Baptist Church where she was former president of the W.M.U. and was a current Member of the Victory Chapel Baptist Church of Shady Valley. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a homemaker and had at one time worked in the Shady Mountain Orchards.
Survivors include two sons, Alton Sluder and wife, Shirley, Shady Valley, Tenn., and Kenneth Sluder and wife, Eula, Shady Valley, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby Testerman, Vinton, Va.; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Letha Sluder will be conducted on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 7 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Chapel of the Hux Lipford Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Porter to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Pall bearers will be Kenny Sluder, David Sluder, Mark Reed, Blake Grindstaff, Jake Sluder, Daniel Morley, Mike Testerman and Dennis Testerman. Honorary pallbearers will be Emery Blevins, Kenneth Blevins, Wendy Eades, Richard, Tom and Ralph Rosazza, and Kelly Deel.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday September 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens. Everyone is asked to assemble at 10:45 a.m.

1310 BRISTOL — John Barton Wilson, age 84, a former resident of Alhambra Drive, Bristol, TN passed away July 1, 2006 while in Life Care Center, Gray, TN.

He was a native Johnson County, TN a son of the late William and Dottie Arnold Wilson. He had lived in Bristol since 1943 and was a retired machinist with Raytheon, a member of Center View Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Burlie Wilson, brothers, Wayne Wilson, Jack Wilson, Howard Wilson, Paul Wilson, Harry Wilson and a sister, Ora Tester.

Survivor’s include his Daughter, Donna Wilson Scott and her husband Roger, Blountville,TN. Sister, Ruby Moody, Mountain City,TN. Grandsons, Rusty Scott, Bristol, TN and Jonathan Scott, Kingsport, TN. Special Sister In Law, Dorothy Wilson, Elizabethton, TN. Special Friend, Wilene White, Elizabethton, TN. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 3, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. in Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Clay Austin and Rev. Pete Booher officiating.

She was born in Mitchell County, North Carolina, and was the daughter of Lilton and Bessie Gouge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Harrell; son, Norman Harrell; grandson, Chuck Harrell; siblings, Lawrence, Lucy, Thomas, Rosa, Fred, and her twin brother, Bill. 1312 BRISTOL, TN - Drema L. Tester, age 61 went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2022 in Bristol, TN. Drema was born on September 13, 1961 to the late Harry Douglas Humphrey and Betty Blevins Humphrey in Johnson City, TN. Drema was a homemaker and wonderful mother and Nonnie. She was loved by so many and never met a stranger. Drema had a wonderful personality, great sense of humor, and a loving and caring heart. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jerry “Duck” Humphrey. 1313 BRISTOL, Va. Harry Eugene Milligan ,73, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011, in NHC, Bristol following
several months of illness. He was born in Johnson City, Tenn. on Oct. 13, 1937, a son of the late George Washington Milligan and
Lula Dona Watkins Milligan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Raymond Milligan. He spent his
childhood in Appalachia, Va. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from shipping and maintenance at Raytheon with 23
years of service and was a member of West Hills Christian Church. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Eula Reece
Milligan; two sons, Darryl Milligan and wife, Katie, who are expecting Harry's first granddaughter, Kinzel, of Bristol, Va. and Gerald
Milligan and fiance, Misty, of Lewisville, N.C.; sister, Sarah Akers of Big Stone Gap, Va.; a number of nieces and nephews; and
half-sister, Betty Hicks of Jonesborough, Tenn. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August, 14, 2011, from 6 until 7:45 p.m.,
at Blevins Funeral and Cremati.on Services . The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m., with Dr. Gary Knapp and Pastor Todd

1315 Brownlow Vines, 85, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2023 at The Waters of Roan Highlands in Roan Mountain, Tenn. Brownlow was a resident of Carter County, Tenn. He was married to his wife, Delora Vines, for 38 years. Brownlow served as a Specialist in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962, was actively involved in his church, and loved gardening. He is survived by his wife, Delora, two children, Emily Foster Vines and David Vines, their spouses, four grandchildren, Hannah, Corey, Cooper and Casey, a stepson, Kris McNeil, a brother, Arnold Vines, and a sister, Linda Carrier. A private burial and no funeral services will be held.

1316 BRUCE C. VAUGHT, age 74 years of Airville, Pennsylvania died at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Reba Kate (Stout) Vaught. They observed their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 20, 2005. Mr. Vaught was born on September 15, 1930 in Mountain City, Tennessee; he was a son of the late Jacob Raymond and Gertrude (Cole) Vaught.

He was a Korean Conflict veteran of the United States Army. Moving from Delaware, he had resided in lower York County for the past forty-seven years. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture and was a member of the Alpha Zeta Fraternity. Mr. Vaught was a member of the Lions Club, a member of the Red Lion Area School Board, and had served for the past ten years as a Lower Chanceford Township Supervisor. He was the store manager for the Southern States - Whiteford, Maryland location for over thirty-five years. He was a member of the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Airville, Pennsylvania. He was an avid bowler and coin collector.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Vaught is survived by: Three children Terry Cole Vaught of York, PA Sandra Kay Bechtel of Wrightsville, PA Michael Howard Vaught of York, PA Four grandchildren Four sisters Naomi Smith of Memphis, TN Frances Fischer of Dover, DE Alice Joines and Mildred Lowe, both of Mountain City, TN Several loving nieces and nephews Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 8:00 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with his pastor, Reverend James B. Shuler officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service from 7-8PM. The family will also recieve friends from 2-2:45 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2005 at Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home, MountainCity, Tennessee. Services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the Sunset Mausoleum of Love in Mountain City, Tennessee and will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard.

1317 Bruce Johnson, 88, of Newland, NC, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, surrounded by his sons at 4:30 a.m. at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone.

He was preceded in death by his Parents: Jeter Johnson and Louise Hughes Johnson of the Hughes Community; one Daughter: Tami Elaine Johnson; one Brother: Bobby Johnson; and two Sisters: Bernice Johnson Fowler and Nell Johnson Wetmore.

Bruce is survived by his Wife of 61 years: Jean Ellis Johnson, of the home; four Sons: Bruce (Mercy) Johnson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; Greg Johnson, of Marlington, W. Va.; Kenny (Tammy) Johnson, of Newland, NC; and Alan (Julie) Johnson, of Linville, NC; and one Sister: Mary Lou Johnson Banner of Linville, NC. Bruce leaves to cherish his memory seven Grandchildren: MaKenna, Kadynn, Kyleigh, Avery, Braydon, Hallie, and Luke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A veteran of the United States Army, he went on to hold many occupations, of which driving a truck became his primary job. His most memorable years of driving a truck was for Mike and Tom Aldridge. He also enjoyed playing bluegrass music on his fiddle and gardening. One of his fondest memories of playing music was performing with the legendary Bill Monroe. While logging the miles from coast to coast, he often entertained others playing the fiddle along the way. Bruce even passed his talents and skills to his children and grandchildren who love and follow in his musical footsteps. He was often seen working in his tomatoes and on his lawnmower. Bruce was reared in the Hughes Presbyterian Church, of the Hughes Community, and in later life, attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Newland, NC. He leaves his friends and family with treasured memories and a faith that sustains them in the knowledge of his place with God.

A private family service will follow at a later time.

1318 Bruce King, age 76, of Elk Park, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at Sycamore Shoals in Tennessee. He was born on April 22, 1943, in Avery County, to the late Stokes and Oakie Hughes King. In addition to his Parents, he is preceded in death by one Son: Bradley Allen King; five Brothers: Fred, Charlie, Nubert, Russel and Ronald King; and two Sisters: Vergie Brewer and Vina King.

Bruce was a graduate of Cranberry High School. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He retired from the Department of Corrections after 30-plus years. Bruce was a lifetime member of the Elk River Fishing Club, Cranberry Lodge 598 and Jericho Shriners of Kingsport, Tenn. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, fishing, ballgames and spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his special Friend: Linda Canup of Stanley; two Sons: Brian Andrew King and wife, Theresa, of Newland, and Bruce Allison King and wife, Sherry, of Roan Mountain; two Grandchildren: Jared and wife, Megan, of Newland, and Kelly and husband, Kyle, of Piney Flats; one Great grandchild: Peyton Rae King of Newland; two Sisters: Vanda Buchanan of Powder Mill and Verdi Burleson of Newland.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, in the Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Newland, with Pastor Brent Nidiffer officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will immediately follow at Heaton Cemetery.

1319 Bruce Wayne Parlier, age 47, of Banner Elk, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at Life Care Center of Banner Elk in Banner Elk, NC.

He was born on June 20, 1972, in Avery County, NC, a son of the late Sammy James Parlier and the late Judy Church Parlier.

He was preceded in death by his Parents.

Bruce attended Crossnore First Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on computers and rebuilding them. He loved music and could play any instrument with strings. He also enjoyed singing and listening to 80s Rock and Roll Music.

Bruce leaves behind to cherish his memory his Son: Ricky (Jessica) Parlier of Asheville, NC; Son: Clinton Parlier of Elizabethton, Tenn.; Special Friend: Judy Dancy of Newland, NC; several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A Memorial Service for Bruce Wayne Parlier will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 9, 2020, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

1320 BRUNSWICK, GA — Elizabeth Pritchard Brock, a prominent business figure and pioneering woman in Georgia manufacturing circles, died on Saturday, July 2, 2016, from complications due to progressive spranuclear palsy. She was 77.

She was born Elizabeth Ann Pritchard on October 2, 1938, eldest daughter of the union of James Riley and Mildred Anna Pritchard of Heaton, North Carolina. She attended Elizabethton High School in Elizabethton, Tennessee, and was graduated summa cum laude from East Tennessee State University with a degree in business management. In the early 1970s, Elizabeth founded Pallets, Inc. in Gwinnett County, manufacturing specialty hardwood pallets for shipping and warehousing. She operated this business some 40 years, until failing health forced her to retire in 2012.

As a business owner in Gwinnett County, she was active in the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and aided its growth. Elizabeth served on the executive board of directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce for more than 30 years, shepherding the organization's growth from the Business Council of Georgia to the influential institution it is today. She was often called to testify before the Georgia General Assembly, representing the state's manufacturers. Her proudest achievement while on the board was founding, along with the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, the STAR Student program to recognize the state's brightest high school seniors and their teachers. She was the mistress of ceremonies for the state-wide STAR Student awards banquet for 19 years. She was vice-chair of the Governor's Health Strategies Council until it was adjourned. Later, she served on the board of the Lake Lanier Island Authority.

A lifelong learner, Elizabeth earned her private pilot's license in her 50s, was a member of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, and served as the state president of the Georgia Pilots Association. She enjoyed volunteering with the USO and faithfully greeted soldiers flying through Atlanta's airport every Thanksgiving. A member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church since moving to Atlanta in 1970, Elizabeth served as lead usher for nearly 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Elliott Ballard; seven siblings; and dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Elizabeth Pritchard Brock's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Atlanta.

1322 Buddy Eugene Osborne, age 84, of Mountain City, passed away on Saturday morning, March 5, 2022 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on November 19, 1937 in Johnson County, TN to the late Burl Osborne and Rebecca Church Osborne. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Jack, Fred and Edgar Osborne, and sister, Linda Osborne.

Buddy enjoyed mowing grass, watching westerns, and being with his friends. He was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Carol Lewis Osborne; sisters, Phyllis Bouchelle and husband, Duane, and Patricia Osborne; stepsons, Duane Thomas, Billy Thomas and Eddie Leathern; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

1323 Buddy Joe Hamby, age 57, of Elk Park, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019. The son of the late John and Hazel Turbyfill Hamby, he was born in Avery County, NC on July 7, 1961.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Christine Hamby, Ruby Clawson, Shirley Bare, RD Hamby, JC Hamby, Haroldene Hamby, Frankie Harmon and Kenneth Wayne Hamby.

Buddy, along with his brother, at the age of 14 began to work in construction and has always built things with his hands.

He is survived by three Children: Tammy Denise Resendiz (Jose) of Boone, NC; Joseph Allen Hamby (Jennifer) of Marion, NC, and Jessica Ann Resendiz (Juan) of Deep Gap, NC; and five Siblings: Barbara Townsend (Leroy) of Foscoe, NC, Ricky Hamby (Wanda) of Banner Elk, NC, Wanda Hicks (Charles) of Foscoe, NC, Dayton Hamby (Pansy) of Elk Park, NC and Keith Hamby of Elk Park, NC. Buddy is also survived by 10 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his Buddy's life will be held 3 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Elk Park Christian Church, 220 Old Mill Road in Elk Park, with Pastor Barry Shepard officiating.

1324 Buddy Mack Wiseman, 70, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Hermitage Health Center after an extended illness. He was born August 24, 1951 in Carter County to the late Ben and Vera Ward Wiseman.
Buddy was a graduate of Hampton High School and was retired from Snap-On Tools after 34 years of service. He had served in the Tennessee National Guard.
Buddy loved gospel music and playing his guitar and mandolin. He sang with the Sounds of Victory. Buddy attended Sunset Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Proffitt, and three brothers, Hayden, Carroll and Larry Wiseman.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lenora Hyder Wiseman; two daughters, Kimberly (Mike) Carr, Bluff City, and Michelle (Jeff) Crumley, Butler; a son, Michael (Sandra) Moody, Mountain City; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Harmon, Sugar Grove, N.C.; one brother, Howell (Jackie) Wiseman, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; and his sidekick, Prince.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by the Sounds of Victory. 1325 Buford Kenneth Lipford, age 83, went home on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1938 to BC Lipford and Mae Jones Lipford. In addition to his Mom and Dad, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trula Dunn Lipford, brothers: Gary, Dagle, Perry, Ralph, Raymond and Boyd, sisters: Norma South and Fausteen Sanders, nephews: Allen Lipford, Benny Forrester and a niece, Sandy Lipford.
He was a charter member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He held several offices including Deacon. He was a former employee of Burlington, TDOT, Johnson County Highway Department and Hux & Lipford Funeral Home.
Buford loved watching Westerns and was a big fan of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. He had been a NASCAR fan for over 50 years and loved Fords, horses, dirt bikes and especially his four wheeler. He was known as the Mayor of Fall Branch. He loved helping others and was always willing to lend a helping hand to help others out. He loved his church, his family, his friends and his community.
Survivors include his son Dan (Tina) Lipford, grandchildren: Julia (Jon) Gilsdorf, Matthew (Amanda) Lipford, Dakotah (Janet) Campbell, great grandchildren: Sophia, Willow, Zack, Danny, Zoe, Kit and Katie, his beloved girlfriend, Shirley Lipford, her children: Janie (Ted) Gentry, Brenda (Tony) Wallace and Coy (Deana) Lipford. A host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins and special friends also survive.
Funeral services for Buford will be conducted on Tuesday evening, April 12, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with his pastor, Russ Poteet, Buddy Morefield and Dwayne Dickson to officiate. Music will be provided by Narrow Road. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral services.
A graveside service and interment for Buford will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Lipford Cemetery in Fall Branch.

1326 BULADEAN, NC - Georgia Honeycutt Moffitt, age, 91 took her “one-way” flight to her Home in Heaven on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from her home in Buladean, NC

A native of Mitchell County, N.C., she was the youngest and last-surviving child of the late Chester and Lillie Mae Street Honeycutt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Toye Moffitt; a son, Michael “Mike” Moffitt; a daughter, Mitzi Yvonne Moffitt; brothers Dave, Buster, and Willie “W.G.” Honeycutt; sisters Etta and Nannie Honeycutt, Betty Gouge, Tilda Butler, Bonnie Street, Mary Arrowood, Martha Jenkins, Lennis Moffitt, and half-sister Virgie Hughes.

Georgia was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and retired from the Mitchell County School System after having taught 35 years. During her years of teaching, it was customary for her to begin each school day with classroom devotions and, as a result, she touched the lives of her students spiritually as well as academically.

As an avid reader, her favorite book was the world’s best seller – The Holy Bible – which she loved from a youth. History was her favorite subject and she enjoyed visiting historical places. Poetry was also of interest to her and she loved to read and write poems.

Having joined the Church at an early age, she was a long-time member of the Middle District Freewill Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School, served as a church clerk, and sang in the choir. She also sang in quartets and at one time was a member of the Pilgrim Quartet that was featured on a regularly-scheduled radio program.

Georgia was a loving wife and mother who truly adored and cherished her family.

Surviving her are a sister-in-law, Joan Honeycutt of Winston Salem, N.C., several nephews and nieces, and a special friend and caretaker Tammy McKinney.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Middle District Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1:00PM. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM until the service time. Officiating will be Reverends Blaine Whitson and Marvin Hensley, and eulogy by Dr. Roger L. Jenkins. Interment will be at the Middle District Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the service.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Bonnie Odom Deloach. She had lived in Hawkins County for several years. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. In her earlier years, she was employed at E. Watts John’s Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. McClanahan was preceded in death by Her Husband, Frank McClanahan, March 11, 2002; and Three Brothers: Charles Franklin Deloach, Richard D. Deloach and an Infant brother.

1330 Burchell Ray Dunn, age 81 of Mountain City passed away on Friday May 17, 2019, at the VA Medical Center Mountain Home, Tennessee. Burchell was born in Shouns, Tennessee on November 23, 1937, to the late Fred and Pearl Dunn. In addition to his parents, Burchell is preceded in death by two brothers, Dwayne Dunn and Burnis Dunn.

Burchell served in the US Army as a member of the Military Police from 1960-62. After completing his time in the Army, Burchell made a living working as a carpenter. Burchell enjoyed spending his free time on the banks of a mountain stream with his fishing pole and enjoying nature.

Burchell leaves behind two sons, Donald Stout of Bay City, MI and Kevin Stout of Mountain City, TN; a sister, Patty Dunn Lanahan of PA; a brother, Darrell Dunn of PA; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special friends, Gary Cooper, Bill Dunn, and Ernest Dunn.

Graveside service and internment will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.

1331 Burdette Renfro went home to be with the Lord December 30,2017, at Cornerstone Village of Johnson City after a short illness.

Burdette was born September 23, 1930 to the late Glen, and Mae McKinney Renfro. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert, and half-sister, Jewell Renfro McKinney.

Burdette worked in sales most of his adult life with Rainbo Bakery, Moore's Potato Chips, and retired from Kern's Bakery. He was a faithful member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Johnson City, where he served as an usher. He also served as a Deacon at other former churches, and was a 50-year member of the Johnson City Masonic Lodge #486. Burdette enjoyed spending time tending to the flowers in his garden.

Burdette is survived by his wife of 32 years, Louise Sams Honeycutt Renfro; two sons, Gregory Allan and Jeffrey Wallace Renfro, both of Johnson City; one step daughter, Janet Honeycutt Carriger, of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Alex Jason, of Abingdon VA, Grant Thomas of Greenville, South Carolina, and Christy Renee Burrough and Jonathan Edward Renfro, both of Elizabethton; two great grandchildren, Bracken Carter and Addison Grace, of Elizabethton; three step-grandchildren Rebecca Monroe, of Houston, Texas, Rachel West, of Asheville, North Carolina, and David Carriger, of League City, Texas; two half-brothers, Gene and Bert Renfro, both of Johnson City, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2017, at 8:00 pm, at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1004 East Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601. Pastor Paul Crowe and Reverend Howard Ray will officiate, with music provided by the Quillen family. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 6:00 pm until the time of service. Committal services will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park in Johnson City on Friday, January 5th, at 1:00 pm.
