1101 Benneth Milton Whitehead, 83, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert and Madge Wright Whitehead.
Mr. Whitehead was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He loved to work in his garden and go hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Whitehead, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Hicks and Clyde Buckles.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frankie Russell Whitehead; two daughters, Helen Wagenseller and husband Ronald, and Cindy Scalf and husband Shannon; one son, James Whitehead and wife Joy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Carmon Whitehead and wife Louise; and two sisters, Estella Hicks and Wanda Buckles. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Benneth Milton Whitehead will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Collins, Bryant Collins, Matthew Whitehead, Ray Whitehead, Caleb Ray and David Whitehead.

1102 Berlie A. 'Buck' Barry
Berlie A 'Buck' Barry, age 88, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Mountain City Care Center.

He was born on February 13, 1924 to the late Daniel Hugh Barry and Mary Alice Grindstaff Barry. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters: Rachel Greer, Lulu Wells and Anna Wells. a brother, Ray Barry.

Berlie was a 1944 graduate of Johnson County High School and a 1946 graduate of Elizabethton Business College. He founded Barry Real Estate Auction Company and after many years of service, retired from the company.

He enjoyed working around his farm and with his cattle. He also enjoyed working in his garden with his wife Mary. Berlie was a member of the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F&AM and the Jericho Shrine Temple. He was a faithful member of Liberty Christian Church. Berlie loved his family and spending time with them and he will be missed by all.

Berlie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary I. Crussell Barry; daughter, Alice Faye McCloud; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Gearlene Barry, Wayne and Vickie Barry and Joe and Pat Barry, all of Mountain City, TN; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many special friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Mountain City Funeral Home with Minister Maurice Widener to officiate. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Carl Williams, Anthony Barry, Chaz McCracken, Jason Barry, David Pennington, Mike Eller and CJ McCloud. 1103 Bernice Forrester Garland, 95, Butler passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012, in the Mountain City Care Center following an extended illness.

A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar & Ella Tester Forrester. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Garland was a member of the Little Doe Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Garland, September 24, 1997; and one sister and seven brothers.

Her hobby was quilting.

Survivors include a step-daughter: Doris Brown and her husband, Clayton, Butler; A step-grandson: Everett Brown, Butler; A sister: Emma Ruth Phillippi, Felton, Delaware; Several nieces & nephews, including a special niece & friend, Geraldine Cable and her husband, Richard; Her special friends, Grace Glover and Bonnie Stout.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in the Little Doe Baptist Church, Butler, with the Rev. Kreg Smith officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Rock Springs Cemetery. Music will be provided by the church choir. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday and also at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, will be: Tony Milam, Tom Kyte, Glen Good, Larry Slemp, Paul Lowe and R.E. 1104 Bernice Hobson Cooke, age 80, of Hwy 261, Bakersville, NC passed away August 11, 2013 at Rose Hill Retirement Community in Marion, NC.
She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Fonzer and Nettie Ledford Hobson. She was Co-Owner of Cooke Lumber Company, and a member of Fork Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include; one daughter, Deborah Cooke Greene, one grandson, Brian Greene and wife Amanda, and one great granddaughter, Peyton Greene, all of Bakersville, NC, two sisters; Laura Cooke and Marie McKinney, and one brother, Howard Hobson, all of Bakersville, NC.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Parnell Cooke, her sisters, Nellie and Mae Hobson, Dora Greene, Pearl Hoilman, Blanche Cain, and Belle Buchanan, her brothers, Frank and Wiley Hobson.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2013 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in Henline – Hughes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fork Mountain Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

1105 Bernice M. "Bibi" Kuziola, age 93, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Kuziola was a Washington County native and a daughter of the late Arvil David and Bert Harwood Miller.
She was veteran of the U.S. Navy's WAVES during WWII, where she was stationed in Bainbridge Island, WA, and always spoke fondly of the time she spent there.
Mrs. Kuziola retired from her position at the V.A., Mountain Home, after twenty-five years of service in the dietetics department.
She was an active member of St. Mary's Church, and volunteered her secretarial services to them for many years.
More recently, she volunteered her sewing skills to Central Baptist Church and made 750 pairs of shorts in the past year and a half for their overseas missions, which help to clothe children in foreign countries.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kuziola was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard H. Kuziola; two brothers, Frank Miller and A.D. Miller; a sister, Eileen Milsap; a grandson, Joshua Bunch; as well as her dear friend, Fr. Val LaFrance.
Survivors include her son, Michael Kuziola and wife, Roberta, Johnson City; her daughter, Kim Robinson and husband, James, Johnson City; two granddaughters, Katie Bunch, Pullman, WA, and Kayla Kuziola, Gray; special friends, Jacky Lancaster, Church Hill, and Richard Bunch, Lugoff, SC; several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Schoondyke and his staff at Karing Hearts Cardiology for all of their aid and support.
The private funeral service for Mrs. Kuziola will be held at Appalachian Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, with interment to follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park.

1106 Bernice Turnmire parents were James Calvin Turnmire of North Carolina 1872 – 1960 and Texie Brookshire 1886 – 1977 of Tennessee. She had several siblings.

In 1910, when Nellie was a year old, her parents were living on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, Chouteau, Montana. Her father was farming, and her mother was employed as a cook.

The family had relocated to Civil District 16, Washington, Tennessee in 1920. They were renting a house that was on a farm, and Nellie's father was working out as a farmer.

By 1930 the family had relocated again, now to District 9, Greene, Tennessee. They still rented a farm house and her father was employed as a farmer.

When she was 47 years old, she married Thomas Bert Smith, after his first wife died. They had one known daughter, Edna June Smith, born in 1930.

Thomas died Sept. 27, 1957. Thomas's death certificate revealed that he died at 138 Patton Street at Limestone, Green Co. Tennessee of a Cerebrovascular accident due to Generalized Arteriosclerosis that he had been surffering for 5 years prior to his death. His recent wife, Bernice Turnmire Smith was the informant on his death certificate.

Bernice died on Jul.18, 1999 and is buried beside her late husband. "Rest in Peace, Bernice" (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)

1107 Bert Allen Trivett, age 82, of Beech Mountain Road, Elk Park, died October 6th, 2014 at home. He was born June 9, 1932 in Avery County. After serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, Bert returned to Avery County and worked as a self-employed rock mason in the area. He was a member of Beech Mountain Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Nunley Trivett; son, Jimmy Trivett of Elk Park; four grandsons, Nathan, Jacob, Matthew and Luke Trivett, all of Elk Park; granddaughter, Summer Trivett of Johnson City, TN; and two great-granddaughters, Tatum Cook of Johnson City and Candice Dawn Trivett of Elk Park.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Lincoln and Matthew Trivett; three brothers, Omer, Jim and Ustace Trivett; four sisters, Pauline Kelley, Louise Oliver, Loy Trivett and Agnes Walsh.

1108 Bert Paul Poarch, 47, of 31 Kentucky St., died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at his North Carolina, he a native of had resided in Johnson City since his youth.
He was a member of the Baptist church and had been employed as a sheet metal worker at Willard Heating and Air Conditioning Co. for 20 years.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Vena Evelyn Poarch; four sons, Bert Poarch Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Charles Poarch, Wayne Poarch and William Pouch, all of Johnson City; two sisters. Mary Poarch and Pearl Poarch of Elizabethton; six brothers, Ray Poarch, Johnson City, Clyde Poarch, James Poarch, Guy Poarch, and Tommy Poarch, all of Elizabethton, John Poarch, Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

1109 Berta Sue Vance, 96, of the Linville Falls community, died Saturday, May 18, 2002. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delzie Mace Ollis. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elbert Stamey Sr. and Harve Vance; two sons, Frank and Elbert Stamey Jr. and one daughter, Lillian Vance.

Survivors include one sister, Carrie Gouge of Celo; daughter-in-law, Maxine Stamey of Linville Falls; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pisgah Methodist Church. Revs. Keith Tutterow and Phillip McCall officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.

1110 Bertha Ellen Cole, age 74, of Lenoir, NC passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 at her home in Lenoir, NC.

She was born on April 17, 1944, in Carter County, Tenn., a daughter of David and Etta Hicks Johnson.

Bertha was a devoted mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking, but mostly spending time with her grand-babies

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Lonnie Johnson; daughter: Linda Ann Cole; Brothers: Jake Johnson, John Johnson and Jim Johnson; Sisters: Helen Oakes, Sylvia Clawson, Cleo Marlowe and Kay Cole.

Bertha leaves behind to cherish her memory her Husband: Willie Cole; Daughters: Irma (Darrell) Higgins of Lenoir, NC, Donna (Randall) Fillers of Lenoir, NC, Jessica (Blake) Bouillion of Lenoir, NC; Sisters: Kathleen Clawson of Roan Mountain, Tenn., Suzanne (Roy) Thomas of Roan Mountain, Tenn., and Judy Philyaw of Lenoir, NC; Grandchildren: Amanda Higgins, Angela Higgins, Joshua Higgins, Amanda Kaylor, Ashley Clawson, Amber Johnson, Aimee Johnson, Henry Bouillion, Randy Greene (who lived with his Granny) and Brandon Greene, as well as 12 Great Grandchildren.

Services for Bertha Ellen Cole will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, from the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cooke officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning noon on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Johnson Cemetery on Buck Mountain following the funeral service.

1112 Bertha Loetta Gouge , age 99, of North US Highway 19-E, Cranberry, passed away on Sunday September 5, 2010 at her residence.

A native of Avery County, she was born January 25, 1911 a daughter of the late Mack and Della Ollis Hughes.

For many years her and her late husband, Ernie Gouge, owned and operated the Snack Bar in Cranberry. She was known for her hamburgers and fried bologna sandwiches. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for the sick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Thomas G. Gouge and Ernie Gouge; her sisters, Tish Sparks, Anna Ollis, Fanny Massy, and Ora Gragg.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Betty Cloninger of Cranberry; son, Thomas Richard Gouge, and his wife, Violet, of Piscataway, NJ; sisters, Georgia Carpenter of Morganton, Elnora Graybill of Cranberry, Aileen Dean of Morganton; brother, Leslie Hughes of New Port News, VA; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Bertha Gouge will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Grandfather Chapel of the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

1113 Bertha Lucille Arnold Wilcox, age 90, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on August 25, 1926 to the late Alex Tester and Myrtle Mae Dean Tester. In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse Arnold; second husband, Taft Wilcox; sons: Billy Arnold, Ronnie Arnold, Rick Arnold, Robert Arnold and Junior Arnold; sister, Geraldine Tester; brothers: Millard Tester, Ellis Tester, Bobby Tester, Harvey Tester and Joe Tester step children: John Wilcox, Ola Mae Scott, Mary Lee Icenhour, Maxie Icenhour and Ed Wilcox.

Bertha was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and visits from her church family. Prior to her declining health, Bertha enjoyed raising a garden, canning and cooking. She retired from Levi Strauss, where she was an Inspector for many years.

Those left to cherish her memories include daughters: Hazel Arnold Winters and husband Odell and Rosy Prince; son, Stanley Hendricks; step children: Peanut Mullins, Ilene Cuddy, Della Womble, Carolyn Spinks Higginbotham, Naomi Bunter, Rob Wilcox and JB Wilcox; sisters: Verna Smith, Margaret Cross and Linda Davis; brother, Alfred Tester; grandchildren: Justin Arnold, Derek Arnold and Jessica Vanover, Joyce May, Tim Prince, Carol Wilcox, Tammy Gentry, Eddie Winters, Jimmy Winters, David Winters; special grandchild, Robin Greene; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

1114 Bertha Sanders Wilson, age 95, of Silverstone Road, Zionville, passed away Monday morning, June 22, 2020, at her home.

Bertha was born June 18, 1925 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late John and Della Wilson Sanders.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Bertha showed unconditional love to all her family, never wanting anything in return. She was always thinking of others and loved to send greeting cards.

In additions to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Lee Wilson; one son, Sonny Wilson; two grandchildren, Duane Wilson and Jamie Hicks; one daughter-in-law, Angela Wilson, and a number of brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Bertha Sanders Wilson will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2020, at 2:00 o'clock, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 12:30 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Preacher Derick Wilson and Preacher T.J. Wilson. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

4, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Dempsey and
Lodema Tolley.
Mrs. Woodby was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Woodby, and two sons,
Estell Woodby and Gordon Woodby.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dennis Smith of
Hampton; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ernest and Virginia Woodby, of
Elizabethton; Ross and Susan Woodby of Hampton; Romily and Claudette Woodby of
Hampton, and Paul Woodby, of Elizabethton; one sister, Mae Woodby of Hampton;
13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and
best friend, Avenell Arnett, of Hampton also survive.
The funeral service for Bertha Tolley Woodby, will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Rev.
B. F. McKinney, Rev. Jonas Revis, and Rev. Mike Mills officiating. Music will
be under the direction of the church choir. The family will receive friends
from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the church or friends may
call at the residence at any time. The graveside service and burial will be
conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Woodby Family Cemetery.

1116 Bertha Tipton Boone White, age 97, of Hampton, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully at Hillview Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, where she had been constantly surrounded by her loved ones throughout her illness.
A native of Carter County, she was born and raised in Roan Mountain, and lived there many years after she married Blaine Boone and had her daughter, Helen. She also lived in Chicago and worked at Brach Candy Company in Chicago, Illinois, for a few years. She then lived in Bristol, Tennessee, and then moved to Hampton, where she lived for 38 years with her daughter, Helen. She was the daughter of the late Ezekiel Mack Tipton and Huldia Greene Tipton.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Bart White; former husband, Blaine Boone; two infant siblings; by her sisters, Lucy Birchfield, Lockie Jane "Ted" Brown Richardson and Josie Spoone Coleman; and her brothers, Lon Tipton, Blaine Tipton, Warren Tipton and Roy "Pete" Tipton.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen Boone Fleenor; granddaughters, Teressa Fleenor, Jennifer Fleenor Sizemore and husband, Tony; great grandchildren, Holly Bumgarner and husband, Tony, Nathaniel Martin, Marah Sizemore Wood and husband, Jordan, Evan Sizemore, Elissah Sizemore and Lydiah Sizemore; great-great grandchildren, Adrianna Bumgarner and Chloe Bumgarner. Several nieces and nephews also survive. One brother, Robert Mack Tipton, Cleveland, Ohio, also survives.
A service to honor the life of Bertha Tipton Boone White will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2015, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. William Lunsford and Tony Sizemore, officiating. Music will be provided by her granddaughter, Jennifer Sizemore.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Saturday.
The committal and entombment service will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Nathaniel Martin, Evan Sizemore, Gary Tipton, Mitchell Brown, Jerry Tipton and Warren Tipton Jr.

A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Martha Brown. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosa Lee Moody; son-in-law, Billy Ford Moody; brother, Bill Brown.
Bertie will always be known as one of the strongest women anyone has ever known. A God-fearing Christian woman, whose prayers have kept several generations safe. Bertie never hesitated to set any of the children she helped raise straight. Bertie enjoyed her Nintendo, gospel music and the TV show Survivor.

Bertie is survived by her husband, Mack Arthur Gwyn; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Dylan Cole; grandsons, Billy Lee Moody and Cody Cole; and sister, Wilma Moser and husband, Don. Several nieces and nephews, as well as special friends including but not limited to: Dr. Earwood, Patricia Brooks, Bobby Bentley, Colin Wilson, Randy Blevins and Phyllis Cole.
Funeral Services were held November 17, 2021 at Open Door Baptist Church. The Rev. Edward Moser and The Rev. Ronald Stevens officiated. Burial followed in the Lee Cemetery on Blevins Creek Road in Elk Park.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Jenkins; son, Robert Stanley; sisters, Martha Mae Riddle, Beatrice “Bea” Jones; triplet brothers, Ted and John Eastridge.

Bessie loved her boys and was so proud of them. Bessie had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and working in her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed sharing her vegetables and flowers with friends and neighbors. Bessie worked for over 20 years at the Johnson County Hospital in the food service department.

Those left to cherish her memories include three sons, Jerry Stanley (Perriann), Steve Stanley (Kim), Tony Stanley (Charmin); grandchildren, Leslie Forrester (Shawn), Tanieka Halberg (Ari), Ashley James (Eric), Katie Stanley, Kayla Stanley, Jessica Jupin (Chris), Patricia Faye Baker (Derek), Justin Stanley; great grandchildren, Katie and Sophia Tidwell, Jacob and Lee Ann Halberg, Hannah Sharp, Peyton James, Skyler Jupin, Zyra, Zoe, and Zola Baker and several nephews.

She leaves to mourn her departure the husband and the following children: Helen, Louise, John. Grady and Bettie Bell of Silverstone. The father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Sanders, three brothers and thee sisters, besides a hots of relatives and friends. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church several years ago and remained a faithful member to the end. The funeral was conducted at Pleasant Grove Church on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. by the pastor, Reverend D. M. Edmisten and interment was in the nearby cemetery.

Ms. McNabb was born in Erwin, TN and the daughter of the late Claude & Helen Casey Richardson.

She was a Teacher's Aide at Lamar Elementary School for twenty years.

Ms. McNabb was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and attended Bethlehem Church while living in Georgia.

Survivors include three daughters, Natalie McNabb (Jeffrey Matteson), Olivia Amiscaray (Clint), all of Bethlehem, and Rachel McNabb, Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Kenna Amiscaray, Graham Amiscaray, Adaline Amiscaray and Kylie Boozer; three sisters, Kathy Camp (Jackie), Tammy Roberts (Roger) and Sheila Lafollette; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, March 11, 2019 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Reed and Mr. Jackie Camp officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Monday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Cherry Grove-Keplinger Cemetery.

Ilene was born March 8, 1936 in Bristol, VA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lottie Almany Trivett. She lived in the Bristol area all her life.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wayne Leonard, one brother, and two sisters.

1129 Betty (Moore) Pritchard, 89, of Elizabethton, Tenn., was welcomed home into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Betty was born in Elizabethton to the late Rondy and Callie (Ellis) Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Landon Pritchard; her brother, RJ Moore; and grandmother, Bettie Moore. Betty loved people, entertaining at family gatherings and most of all the Lord and her family. She was a people person that was born with the gift of hospitality and was very generous and loving. Betty was also a hard worker and had milked cows on her family farm – Moore’s Dairy – for more than 25 years and drove a tractor-trailer for more than 20 years. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church in Stoney Creek and served as the organist there for many years, sang in the church choir and was part of a trio years ago. Most of all Betty loved her family and cooking for them, making cakes, hosting parties, playing Bingo and playing with her cats. Those left to cherish and remember Betty include her daughters, Nancy (Barry) Taylor, Karen (David) Calloway and Tracy (Alan) Shepard; her grandchildren, Jack (Jodi) Buckles, Misty (Aaron) Lloyd, Jamie (Jared) Garfield, Alan (Tristyl) Shepard Jr. and Rhonda (Andy) Blevins; her great-grandchildren, Madisyn (Josiah), Brayden, Jackson, Carson, Alexis, Camden, Karlee, Bryson, Thomas, Kristen, Mason and Spenser; and a very special friend, Sue Bowers. Several other extended family members that will miss Betty also survive. A celebration of Betty’s life will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Dr. Dennis Deese officiating. A native of Elizabethton, TN she was the daughter of the late William Oates and Mary Elizabeth Moore Oates.

Betty had worked at N.A.R.C. and T.P. I. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church but attended Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. Betty loved to shop and was always ready to go. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed looking at lighthouses.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Malone. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Michelle Gillis, Gray, TN; a son, Mark Malone, Johnson City, TN; three grandchildren, Caiden Gillis, Callie Gillis and Brandi Woods; a great-granddaughter, Presley Woods and a special friend, Tammy Etherton.

Betty was a lifelong residence of Washington County. She was born in Johnson City but raised in Boones Creek to the late George L. “Fay” and Blanche Roland Boy.

Betty was a 1964 graduate of Boones Creek High School. She then went on to get her Associate’s Degree in Secretarial in Accounting at Steed College, and in 1984, Betty went to the Johnson City Vocational School where she received a certificate for Administrative Medical Assistant. She worked at Eastman for seven years, then Weems Florist and Betty’s Floral. Betty was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church.

She enjoyed sewing, especially quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James William “Jay” Boy and a sister, Daris Boy Martin.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are a brother, George Edward Boy and wife Laura, Johnson City; a sister, Joyce Boy Hamilton, Bristol; an aunt, Ellen Romano, Connecticut; 3 nieces, Lisa Phipps and Darlene Lane, both of Virginia, Lori Dykes of Boones Creek; 3 nephews, Robby Boy, Chris Boy and Jon Boy, all of Boones Creek.

The funeral service for Betty will be conducted Monday, June 24, 2019, at 4:00 pm, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Dr. Paul Lane, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. There will be a private graveside service prior to the service in Monte Vista Memorial Park.

She was a native of Carter County, daughter of the late David King Carriger and Ida Grindstaff Carriger. Betty was a retired manager of the Motherhood Maternity Store. She was a member of the Snow Memorial Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School for many years.

Betty loved gardening, sewing and anything that included her grandchildren and their activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Edwards Jr.; a daughter, Debbie Hammett; three brothers, Norman, Cliff and Bill Carriger; three sisters, Georgie Kinley, Ina Murr and Evelyn Waycaster.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Karen E. and Jon Harvey, of Johnson City; five grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Emily Harvey, of Denver, Colorado, Allie Harvey, Kelly Harvey and Tatum Harvey, all of Johnson City, Matthew and Yoon Loutzenhiser, of South Korea; a sister, Galilee Osborne, of Fairfax, Virginia.

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 26, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Mike Pelham. Special music will be provided by The Harveys.

A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Julie Taylor Cornett. She was also preceded in death by her Husband: Basil Brown, who passed away in 2013; Grandson: John Milan Brown; Sisters: Clarise and Dorothy; and Brothers: Buddy, Burman, Burton and Wayne. Betty was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and Riverwalk Quilters Guild. She worked for Glen Raven Mills and later worked with Appalachian Regional Health System at Cannon Memorial Hospital.

Surviving is her Daughter: Debra Taylor and husband, Kim, of Newland; Sons: Jerry Brown and wife, Denise, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., and Michael Brown and wife, Amy, of Mountain City, Tenn.; 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great-grandchildren and a Sister-in-law: Natalie Cornett, of Newland. Several Nieces, Nephews, her church family and extended family also survive.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, in the Hughes Cemetery on Baxter Hughes Road. Rev. Tommy Carver, Rev. Brian Griffith and Rev. Don Ford officiated.

A native of Bluff City, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Margaret Plank Massengill. Mrs. Morrell was a member of the First Christian Church of Bluff City, and she was an avid gardener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Morrell and three sisters, Mabel Southwick, Margaret Rutter and Irene Wagner. Survivors include four sons, Tony E. Morrell & wife Dimple, Jeffrey D. Morrell, Michael L. Morrell all of Bluff City and Jerry W. Morrell and wife Sherry of Elizabethton; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Georgia Warren of Bluff City and Edith Quinn of Knoxville.

She was born on December 3, 1929 to the late Robert and Velmer Imogene Huggins Barker. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Mains Sr.; sisters: Eleanor Reece, Rebecca Rankins, Evelyn Pennington; brother, Robert Barker; grandson, Robert Shawn Boudle and great grandchildren: Alexis Mains and Hunter Mains.
Betty loved to collect frogs, bells and teacups. She loved spring and summer time when she could work in her garden and plant flowers. Betty especially loved the holidays spent with her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She also enjoyed displaying family pictures throughout her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy A. Chappell; sons: William S. Mains Jr. and Robert J. Mains; grandchildren: Shane Mains, Shannon Clark, Stephanie Clark, Steven Chappell, Kristy Perry, Joseph Mains and Codi Pass; seven great-granddaughters and six great grandsons; special friend, Jackson ‘Hal’ Crowe and several nieces and nephews.

Betty attended East Side Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church
Betty was a longtime employee of Baxter Pharmaceutical. She loved to travel and tend to her flower gardens.
She was the daughter of the daughter of the late Stanley F. White and Mary Stout White.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded death by brothers: David White, Spencer White and Lonnie White and sister: Lorene Hudson Taylor.
Left to cherish her memory include: her son, Johnny N. Smith and wife Fredna; brother, Jerry White and wife Jean; sisters: Helen Barnett and husband James and Peggy Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was much loved by family, friends and neighbors.

1137 Betty Faye Stuart, age 88, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 08, 2017 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1929 to the late Calton and Bessie Eastridge Graybeal. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Moffett Lee Stuart; sister, Sue Simmons and brothers: Conley Odell Graybeal, Wade Graybeal, Pete Graybeal and Vaughn Graybeal.

Betty enjoyed singing in church. She liked to socialize and enjoyed being around other people. Betty loved being outdoors. She was a loving sister and will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memories include sisters: Ruth Cooke and Bobbie Cogswell; special niece, Shirley Ann Dunn; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Reece Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Paul Graybeal officiating. Pallbearers will be Eddie Lipford, Ronnie Lipford, Tim Lipford, Terry Cooke, Tom Cooke and Teddy Cooke. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Griffith and Bob Graybeal.

1138 Betty Jane Bowers Brewer, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at her residence. She was born September 4, 1942 in Bluff City to the late Jay N. and Helen Joey Oliver Bowers.
Betty was a homemaker. She attended Zion Baptist Church. She loved to work puzzles and quilt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Brewer, and a sister, Linda Lunceford.
Survivors include her son, James Hale Brewer, Elizabethton; her granddaughters, Haley and Inga Mia; four sisters, JoAnn Hess, Gray, Ga., Margaret (Tracy) Herman and Dorothy (Brent) Williams, Johnson City, and Wanda (Mike) Dougherty, Gate City, Va.; and three brothers, James Bowers, J.C. (Roberta) Bowers, Elizabethton, and Frank (Sherrie) Bowers, Attica, Mich.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Dr. Alan King officiating. Music will be provided by Ronnie Hall. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the WMU or the Penny Fund of Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family would like to thank the residents of Courtyard that checked on Betty for us and two special caregivers, Shirley Cole and Lisa Lane. We would also like to thank Greg Williams and Angie and Joan Kiser, Pastor Alan King and the WMU from Zion Baptist Church, the Hospice workers and especially nurses Keith Greene and Vanessa Fletcher for all they did for Betty and the family during her illness.

1139 Betty Jane Fritts, age 69, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017. She was born November 26, 1947 to the late Spencer Fletcher and Margaret Jene Street. Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her flowers and helping at Hales Ministry but most of all she enjoyed being with her two dogs, BB and Lucky.

Survivors include: Husband: Roy "Buster" Fritts; Son: Robbie Allen Fletcher; Step-Son: Brian Fritts; Step Daughter: Crystal and husband Martin Norris and Kathy and husband Johnny Feltner; Grandchildren: Robbie Fletcher, Jacob Fletcher, Christina Norris, and Brittany Norris. Step-Grandchildren: Becky, Kimberly and Brandy Fritts and Josh Feltner; Two Brothers: Bobby Fletcher and Teddy Street, both of Mountain City, TN. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive and her special friend Ellen Stout.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux Lipford Funeral Home. with Rev. Harvey White officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Mast Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Buck Fritts, George Roark, Marty Norris, Dustin Fritts, Billy Davis and Joey Allen.

1140 Betty Jean Arnold Campbell Collins, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness. Betty was born in Johnson County, Tenn., to the late James and Lizzie Swift Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Kenneth Campbell; her second husband, Oliver "Shorty" Collins; two daughters, Della Arnold and Ann Watson; one son, Lee Campbell; one sister; and four brothers.
Betty retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Mary Short and Lynn Ballard, both of Elizabethton; one son, Robert Campbell, of Crestview, Fla.; one brother, John Arnold, of Mountain City; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Betty Jean Arnold Campbell Collins will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. John H. Smith, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by Jennifer Hill. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the residence of her daughter, Mary Short, at anytime. A private disposition will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Amedisys Home Health and the staff of Hermitage Health Center.

1141 Betty Jean Estep, age 73, of Elk Park, NC passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018, at her residence.

She was born on March 4, 1945, in Avery County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Conley Estep and the late Hazel Estep.

Betty Jean worked for many years at IRC, Shadowline and Grandfather Golf and Country Club. She was a very special mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cared for others more than herself.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two Aunts: Shelby Jean Oaks, Melba Julian; Four half Brothers: Bill Mottern, Freddy Mottern, Kenny Presnell, Benny Presnell; Step Mother: Bertie Estep.

Betty Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory her Husband of 55 years, Pat Estep of Beech Mountain, NC; Son: Daryl Estep of Beech Mountain, NC; Daughter: Diane Estep of Mountain City, Tenn., Son: Michael (Sherry) Estep of Fall Creek, NC; Daughter: Michele (Derick) Turbyfill of Sugar Grove, NC; Daughter: Rebecca Pukansky of Vilas, NC; Brother: Keith Presnell of Sugar Grove, NC; Brother: Bobby (Patti) Presnell of Vilas, NC; 13 grandchildren. five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Graveside services will follow on Monday morning at 11 a.m. in the Stines Cemetery on Buckeye Road on Old Beech Mountain.

1142 Betty Jean Hatter, 84 passed away peacefully June 19, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Lyndale “Dale” Hatter for nearly 66 years, loving mother of Jimmie (Elizabeth) Hatter and Gwendolyn Hatter, dear grandma of Kelly (David) and Natalie Kiser. Betty was also the sister of Adrian Richardson, Viola Olinger and Juanita Gourley. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Jennie Richardson, and two brothers Clay and Frank Richardson.

Betty was a homemaker. She loved cooking and baking, listening to bluegrass music, watching old westerns, playing cards, and bowling when she was able. She loved her family and the Lord most of all. Those that knew her, would say she was the sweetest person, and it was absolutely true. Miss Betty, as some called her, loved completely and gave the best hugs. She will be missed very much by those that love her

Ms. Roberts was born on August 9, 1940 to the late M.M. Stout and Ruth Norris Stout. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by four brothers; Billy Ray Stout, Rhonda Stout, J.R. Stout, and Jimmy Stout. Betty loved sewing, listening to bluegrass music and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the Dyson Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include; two daughters, Shelia Kennedy, Mountain City, TN and

Melody Grayson and husband Todd, Mountain City, TN; two sons, Mark Roberts, Mountain City, TN and Tim Roberts and wife Robin, Mountain City, TN; brother; Jack Stout and wife Sharon Mountain City, TN; five Grandchildren, Jamie Roberts and wife Dawn, Mtn City, TN; Jason Roberts and wife Emily, Johnson City, TN; Jodi "Candy" Hampton, Mountain City, TN; Jarrett Roberts, Johnson City, TN and Gracie Grayson of Mountain City, TN. Six Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as special friends, Maratha Dugger, Judy Stout, Lucille Brown, and Sam Renfro also survive.

Funeral service for Ms. Roberts will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 6:00 pm. in the Charles B. Hux Chapel of Hux-Lipford funeral home with a visitation prior to the service from 5:00 until 6:00 pm. Cameron Dula will be officiating. Graveside service will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jamie Roberts, Jason Roberts, Jarrett Roberts, Blade Hampton, Gage Hampton, Eli Eller, David Martin, Bobby Potter, Todd Grayson and Ronnie Hughes. 1144 Betty Jeanne Moore, 86, of 1201 Arney St., departed this life on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. Snodgrass and Maude Ann Street Snodgrass. Betty was a member of the Elizabethton High School Class of "50. The friendships of the class were very meaningful to her. She continued her education at Milligan College; graduating in 1954. Betty lived in Louisville, KY; New Albany, Indiana and Indianapolis, Indiana, before returning to Elizabethton. She was a member of First Christian Church. Betty was a retired teacher for Carter County School System. She taught first grade at Hunter Elementary for 25 years. She taught piano at school and at home. She loved reading and enjoyed being a member of the Elizabethton Book Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, David Moore and by her sister, Sylvia Ann Smith and her husband, Jim Smith and Leon Snodgrass of Florida.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie and her husband, Steve Tillis and one special granddaughter, MacKenzie Moore-Adams. Also her family in Florida: Lynn Snodgrass and Norman Barnes.

It was Betty's wish that there be no funeral service and in lieu of a service, it was Betty's wish for her friends to spend time visiting the shut-ins and sick in celebration of her life.

1145 Betty Jo Bowers, age 80, of Oak Ridge, went to be with the Lord July 20, 2021. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church where she was very involved with the children’s ministry and food pantry. Betty graduated from Johnson County High School in 1959 where she was a majorette. After graduating she attended nursing school in Banner Elk, NC becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Nursing was her passion, inspiring her daughter and granddaughter to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in nursing as well. Betty met her husband, Walter “Gus” Bowers in Banner Elk. They were married November 1961 and lived in Hampton, VA, later settling in Oak Ridge. Once there, Betty worked at Methodist Medical Center and West Mall Nursing Home before retiring from the Family Clinic after 34 years with them. She was a member of the Pilot Club of Oak Ridge for many years. One of Betty’s interests was traveling. She and Gus saw much of the Western United States together. She loved UT football. They always had season tickets and traveled to many bowl games. She also loved reading and was a frequent patron of the Oak Ridge Public Library. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Fritts. Survivors include husband of 60 years, Walter R. “Gus” Bowers; daughter, Cynthia Zoladz and husband, Joseph; grandchildren, Sara and Tyler Zoladz; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth & Brock; brothers, Paul Fritts and wife, Judy, and Jim Fritts; and nephews, Steve and Brian Fritts. 1146 Betty Jo Clark Berry, 74, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Maggie Cable Clark. Mrs. Berry was a retired textile worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, McArthur "Mack" Berry, who died July 26, 2015; a daughter, Kathy Slaughter; a sister, Earnestine Tolley; and two brothers, Elmer and Roscoe Clark. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Hathaway, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Amanda and Samantha Hathaway and Sierra Oaks; two great-grandchildren, Travis Bunten and Trinity Hathaway; and three sisters, Bernice Harrell, Manchester, Tenn., Anna Mae Grafton, Leesburg, Fla., and Iva Lee Morgan, Roan Mountain. 1147 Betty Jo Eller Puckett, age 86, of Banner Elk, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1931, in Avery County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Eugene Eller and the late Julia Trivette Eller.

Betty was a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Banner Elk and had retired from Cannon Memorial Hospital after many years working in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Her happiest moments revolved around the holidays and birthdays, which brought her family together. Betty once said "Family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, bring me the most enjoyment in life."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William Puckett; five sisters: Kate Brewer, Mary Eller Smith, Grace Goodwin, Margaret Thompson and Rachel Garner; six brothers: Cecil Eller, Gene Eller, Dean Eller, Pat Eller, Roland "Dutch" Eller and Carl Eller.

Services for Betty Jo Eller Puckett will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. George Wright officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Bill Puckett Family Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 10.

1148 Betty Jo Johnson Fritts, age 82, of Hwy 421 N., Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at her home.

She was born on October 18, 1932 to the late Walter Wynn Johnson and Nola Mae Phillippi Johnson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Spencer Fritts; daughter, Linda Gaye Howard; sister, Mary Ann Johnson Winters; brother, Charles Johnson; son-in-law, Sammy Crosswhite, and nephew, Paul Johnson, Jr. (Bunzie).

Betty enjoyed working outside in her flower beds and gardens. She had a love for animals, especially her dogs and cats.

She loved to visit the Mountain Home National Cemetery where her husband is laid to rest and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Peggy Fritts Humphrey and husband Richard of Mountain City, TN and Brinda Kay Howard Crosswhite of Laurel Bloomery, TN; sons: Johnny Ray Howard and wife Brenda of Greenville, TN and Michael Eugene Howard of Laurel Bloomery, TN; brother, Paul E. Johnson, Sr.; sister, Shirley Jean Johnson Mabe; grandchildren: Cody Brown-Dunn, Melissa Crosswhite Robinson, Steve Crosswhite and Jessica Howard; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Forrester, Westin Smith, Jakob Crosswhite and Savannah Crosswhite; special niece, Susan Williams and several other nieces and nephews; special friends: Angie Reece Nelson, Lori Hensley Blevins, Malena Cornett Jones, Donna Porter, Cheryl Lindsey and extra special friend, Joan.

A funeral service was held with Pastors Billy Morefield and Ron Drake officiating.

Graveside service and interment followed at the family cemetery, Phillippi Cemetery.

1149 Betty June Garland, age 84, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. She was born on February 4, 1935 to the late Tom and Perdie Willen Neatherly. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold Garland, who passed in 2016; brothers, Bob Neatherly and Harold Neatherly.

Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed growing and canning vegetables from her garden. She loved to bake and was known for her delicious cakes and pies that she would cook for her family and friends. Betty also enjoyed quilting and made beautiful quilts that her family will treasure.

Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who she was very proud of. She had a wonderful sense of humor and made everyone smile and laugh with her no non-sense, give it to you like it is attitude.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

1150 Betty Kyker Little, 84, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, April 30, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness.

A native of Telford, she was a daughter of the late Hugh & Ada Treadway Kyker. She was a graduate of Lamar High School. Mrs. Little was an employee of East Tennessee Undergarment for 42 years. She was an avid sports fan; she loved playing softball and basketball. She was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Wayne Little who passed away April 21, 2006, by four brothers: J.B., Allen, Bud,& Bobby Kyker, and three sisters: Wanda Kahn, Eva O'Brien and Ruth Kyker.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Wayne Little, Jr & Gina, Elizabethton. Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Janet & Ted Weaver and Darlene & Randy Hardin, all of Elizabethton. Six Grandchildren: Ryan Weaver & wife Abbey, Trever Weaver & Wife Rebekah, Andy Hardin & wife Monica, Josh Hardin & wife Diana, Micah little & wife Gwen and Maison Little & Wife Kelly. Five Great Grandchildren: Madison, Katlyn, Callie, Trenton and Gracie. Two Sisters: Patricia Slagle and Leatha Grogg. Her special friends: Carol Brown, Mary Forbes and Charlotte Markland.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. The eulogy will be given by Rev. Darrell Wayne Slagle, Jr. Music will be provided by Ray Don Markland, Soloist and Jon Shell Piper. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ray Don Markland, Jason "Smitty" Smith, J.L. Baines, Jack Greer and her church family.
