  1. 6.  Andrew Moody was born on 18 Sep 1921 in Johnson City, , Washington County, Tennessee (son of Charles Zolley Moody and Ressie Branham); died on 1 Jul 2007 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried on 5 Jul 2007 in Monte Vista Memorial Park, , Washington County, Tennessee.

    Notes:

    Andrew "Andy" Moody, 85, a Monacan Indian dropped his body July 1, 2007, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

    Formerly of 102. E. Locust Street, Johnson City, Mr. Moody had been a resident of the Asbury Place before entering the hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a son of the late Charles and Reecie Brantley Moody.

    Mr. Moody was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II in the 35th Combat Engineers Regiment and Battalion, both in construction of the Alaskan Highway and in the European Theatre where he received a Purple Heart. He was a faithful and longtime member of the Locust Street Church of Christ where he had served as a Deacon. Mr. Moody was in the construction business for many years. He was a well-known swimmer at the Legion Street pool for many years and had never met anyone who he was not friendly to. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Moody and three brothers, Augustus Brantley and Niles and Fred T. Moody. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Eva Mae Green Moody of 102 E. Locust Street, Johnson City; two daughters, Estelle Moody and Charlotte Bennett and her husband Bob all of Johnson City; a granddaughter, Diana Laws and her husband Rick; the light of his life a great-grandson, Caleb Elisha Laws; a brother, Brad Moody, Johnson City; a sister, Frances Smith, Johnson City; a special cousin, Daisy Branham; a very special friend, Louise B. Howard, Bulls Gap, TN and several nieces and nephews.

    The funeral service for Mr. Moody will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Locust Street Church of Christ with Ministers Billy Jack Smith and Jeffrey Campbell officiating. A prayer will be offered by Ricky Laws. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 6, 2007, in the Monte Vista Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW Post #3382 Color Guard of Kingsport.

    Pallbearers will be Daryl Fred Moody, Gary Moody, Doug Green, "Little" Andy Moody, Ricky Laws, Elmer Harmon, Jim Potter, David Godsey and Howard Burnette. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Harold Burnett and Dr. John W. Langenbrunner. Family, friends and pallbearers are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM for this service. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday, July 5, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. The family would like to give special thanks to all of the nursing staff at Asbury Place for the wonderful care they provided for Mr. Moody during his illness.

    Eva Mae Moody (Granny), 93, Johnson City, passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Eva Estelle Moody, whom she had lived with for the past nine years.

    In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Moody, four brothers: Brady Green, Burnett Green, Fred Green, and Lester Green; her son-in-law, Bob Bennett.

    Eva loved genealogy, spending many years tracing family lines for both sides of the family. In her later years, she became a volunteer crocheting literally thousands of hats for the Med Center, Samaritan's Purse, and the Cancer Center.

    Eva was a lifelong member of the Locust Street Church of Christ, where she attended faithfully until her health declined.

    Those left to cherish Eva's memory include her two daughters: Eva Estelle Moody, and Charlotte Bennett, granddaughter, Diana Estelle Laws and her husband Ricky, great-grandson, Caleb Laws and his wife Danielle, sister, Beulah "Boots" Burnette, special friend, Sharon Wrinn.
    The family will greet friends to share memories on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 2:30 pm until A Celebration of Eva's Life at 3:30 pm at the Locust Street Church of Christ with Dr. Barry Blackburn officiating.
