Nicolaos Michael arrived in Ellis Island on 22 Jun 1920 aboard the ship Megali Hellas. Nicolaos was accompnied by his son Costas, leaving his family at home in Cyprus. He filed a Declaration of Intention (to become a US citizen) on 13 Aug 1925. He fied a Petition for Naturalization on 21 Oct 1927 in New York City. He was Naturalized on 14 Jun 1928, Certificate 2667568.

On the Petition for Naturalization, Nicolaos lists the name of his children:
Costas, born May 1903, lives with him in New York.
Helen, born March 1910.
Leon , born October 1912.
George, born April 1914.
Christoa, born December 1915.
Antonika, born May 1918.
Andrew, born September 1920.

On the 1930 New York Census, he listed his family even though they had not yet immigrated to the U. S. His family travelled to the United States aboard the S.S. Aquatania on 18 Jun 1932.
