    BLUFF CITY - Susan D. Rutherford, age 55, of Bluff City, TN, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

    She is preceded in death by her father, Ray DeLoach; two spouses, Ronnie Rutherford and Mark Booher; and her maternal grandparents, Harry and Nina Shell.

    She is survived by her mother, Carol Buchanan; brother, Doug DeLoach and wife Beth; sister, Teresa Booher and husband Jesse; nephew, Lucas DeLoach; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; her family at Elizabethton Housing Agency; her friends at BTES; and her dogs "Zip" and "Blaze".

    To honor Susan's wishes, a cremation will take place with a private memorial service to be held at a later date.

    Mrs. Shell was a member of Southside Christian Church and was a homemaker.

    Funeral services for Nina G. Shell, 83, were conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2001 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel.

    Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

    ROBERT T. SHELL
    Robert T. (Bob) Shell, died in the Appalachian Hospital Friday evening at 9:30 o'clock. Death was sudden.
    He was a native of Carter County, and a member of the First Christian Church. He was also a member of Modern Woodsmen of America.
    Survivors are two daughters, Rubel Shell of Elizabethton, and Gladys Lowe, Covington, Tenn.; four sons, Harry Shell, Elizabethton, Staff Sgt. Walter G. Shell of Camp Sibert, Ala., Corp. Ralph Shell, Army, overseas, J. N. Shell, seaman second class, South Pacific; two brothers, Willie and Ed, Elizabethton; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Thomas and Mrs. E. L. Edens, Elizabethton; four grandchildren.
    Funeral services are incomplete.
    The body will be returned to the home, 910 East Broad Street this afternoon at 5:00 o'clock.
    The Roy Hathaway Funeral Home is in charge.

    Funeral services for Robert T. (Bob) Shell, who died suddenly in the Appalachian Hospital Friday at 9:30 p.m., were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence on 910 East Broad Street with the Rev. Clarence Howington and Rev. E. M. Umbach officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
    Luther Hampton was in charge of the music.
    Mr. Shell was a native of Carter County, a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America.

    MRS. IDA SHELL IS DROWNED IN FLOOD WATERS
    Was Sitting in Car Parked At Tad's Barbecue When Wall of Water Struck
    Mrs. Ida M. Shell, 58, was drowned last night by floodwaters as she sat in an automobile parked at Tad's Barbecue stand in the Rio Vista section.
    The automobile in which she was sitting was swept approximately 300 feet away from the parking lot.
    It was understood that her husband, Robert T. Shell, her mother, Mrs. Ella Gregg, and a daughter, Miss Ruble Shell, had gone into the establishment, leaving Mrs. Shell in the car.
    When the party rushed out of the building after the floodwaters struck, they found the car gone. The body was discovered, still in the car, at about 5:00 o'clock this morning.
    Mrs. Shell had apparently been unable to force the doors of the car open due to pressure of the water.
    A native of Johnson county, she had made her home in Carter county for a number of years. She was a member of the Christian church.
    She is survived by her husband, Robert T. Shell; two daughters, Mrs. Philly Lowe of Covington, Tenn., and Miss Ruble Shell of Elizabethton; her mother, Mrs. Ellen Gregg of Elizabethton; one sister, Mrs. Selma Shoun of Mountain City; one brother, Stanley Gregg of Elizabethton; four grandchildren.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Ida M. Shell, wife of Bob Shell, this city, who was drowned while sitting in a car in the Rio Vista section Tuesday night, will be held from the home, 910 East Broad street Friday at 2:30 p.m. Rev.
