Mary Deloach Cassar, 81, Salisbury, North Carolina, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009, at Autumn Care in Salisbury, NC.

Born April 14, 1928, in Johnson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Stella Grindstaff Deloach.

She retired from the food service industry after 45 years of service and along with her late husband, Renard, were active members of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church in Gray, Tennessee. She has been a resident of Salisbury, NC for ten years and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Renard (Ron) Cassar, on December 21, 1976, and by five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Terry and her husband, Glenn, of Salisbury, NC, Stella Isenberg and her husband, Roy, of Gray, Tennessee, Sharon Pontius and her husband, Brian, of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Laura and Elmina Deloach, and a brother, Floyd Deloach, all from Elizabethton, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Elizabethton, Tennessee.

Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Burial will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, TN. Reverend Gene Lasley of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Cassar to Rowan Regional Hospice, 720 Grove St., Salisbury, NC 28144; or Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2515 East Innes St., Salisbury, NC 28146.

The family extends a special "Thank You" to the wonderful employees of Autumn Care and Rowan Regional Hospice for working so close together in providing excellent and compassionate care and services to our mother. Also, a very special thanks to Cheryl Trammell, RN and Jimmy Porter, CNA, with Rowan Regional Hospice.

Pallbearers will be her three grandsons, Andrew Shearin, Christian Terry and Zachary Terry; and her three son-in laws, Glenn Terry, Roy Isenberg and Brian Pontius.
