Freida B. McNabb - age 79 of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday evening, January 21, 2015. Freida was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir City where she taught the Second Grade Sunday School Class for 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Veva Ellis; grandson, J. Chris McNabb; siblings, Mildred Parkerson, Margaret McCarroll, Mary Nell Shaver, Nora Waggoner Plant, Glenn Ellis, and Alice Faye Robbins.

Survived by her husband of 62 years, John Henry McNabb; children: Johnny (Sue Ellen) McNabb, Jimmy (Judy) McNabb, Kathy (Rex) Hogan, Kim Lintner, Kelley (Mark) Robinson, and Jeff (Lisa) McNabb; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 23rd at First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Saturday morning and proceed to the Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for 11 a.m. graveside services.

In the 1910 Mitchell County, NC Census, John and James Ellis were living with their uncle John Ellis and his wife Dellia.

James married Veva Ridge about 1918. Veva (daughter of John Alexander Ridge and Bell Dora Stout) was born on 17 Nov 1898 in Loudon County, , , Tennessee; died on 3 Feb 1971 in Loudon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Lenoir City Cemetery, , Loudon County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mrs. Veva Ridge Ellis, age 72, of Lenoir City, died Wednesday, February 3, at Johnson's Nursing Home.

She was a member of Silver Ridge Baptist Church in Lenoir City.

She was the widow of James H. Ellis.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. W.E. Parkinson, Mrs. T.E. McCarroll, Mrs. Gene Shaver, all of Lenoir City, Mrs. H.D. Waggoner, Denver, Tennessee, Mrs. John H. McNabb, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Mrs. Doug Robbins, Inkston [Inkster], Michigan; son, Glen Ellis, Lenoir City; 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Frank King, Concord, Mrs. W.W. Jett, Knoxville, Mrs. Lester Swanner, Powell; brothers, R.H. Ridge, Lenoir City, C.R. Ridge, Atlanta, Georgia.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday February 6 at Click's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Wampler and Reverend Elmer Summey officiating. Burial was in Lenoir City Cemetery. Click's in Lenoir City was in charge.

James married Alice Jane Manning on 9 Sep 1886 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Alice (daughter of Jackson T. Manning and Elizabeth C. Campbell) was born about 1866 in Washington County, , , Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
