Doris Lanelle Aldridge, 90, passed away peacefully at the residence of Sherrye and Larry Mehaffey, her daughter and son-in-law's home in Little River, SC.

Born on April 8, 1929, in Waynesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late R.L. and Azalee Jordan Saunders.

Mrs. Aldridge retired from Avery County School System.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Elmer Aldridge. Survivors include her children: Robin Aldridge (Lee), Denise Watson (Bobby), Sherrye Mehaffey (Larry), Danny Aldridge (Kathey), Susan Eller (Doug), and Mark Aldridge (Gina); 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Crossnore Baptist Church Cemetery in Crossnore, North Carolina.
